Over $20 for a thin waffle with a vegan sausage and…. Literally that’s it. Extremely overpriced.

Food was okay tasting but very sad looking. I expected the sandwiches to be thicker from other pictures but ours looked like they had little in them. Honestly, not worth the price.

I got the gluten free BLT this evening, and it was so good! No extra charge for the GF option either. Can't wait to go back and try different sandwiches.

I LOVE Smaaken waffles. They’ve made a repeat customer out of me. Everything down to the hot chocolate is delicious and made with love. I had the chicken and waffle sandwich with sriracha aioli, as well as the one with eggs, bacon, and maple butter. All to die for!

Horrible food. Waffle fries were so over salted we had to throw them away. Person taking our order was unbelievably rude.

The last time we came to Hawthorne Asylum, we were having some food regrets by not ordering from here. So this was top on our list for our next visit and first place we ran to when we stopped in this morning. This food cart did not disappoint. There are so many waffle sandwiches to choose from. There’s really truly something for everyone. They even have vegan and gluten-free options. Are you looking for something sweet or savory? They have it all. We ordered the Holla and they let you customize. They have cheddar, smoked Gouda, Swiss and one other cheese. I’m not recalling at the moment but the point is they truly let you customize. The waffle is fairly thin, so it actually is something you can easily eat. I was worried the waffle would make it too thick. The flavor was phenomenal. The staff was super friendly and warmly greeted our puppy that was with us as well. We also ordered chai and some lattes and the drinks were also very good. Seating is all outdoors as this is a food cart so come prepared. There are several heated seating areas as well as covered areas with fire pits. This is a decent food truck option location, even for a rainy day, but even more magical on a sunshiny day. Dog friendly as well!! you’re craving waffles and the person you’re going is not… This is the perfect place because you can choose whichever food truck makes your heart happy.

My Wife and I choose a new breakfast place every Thursday morning just to try something new. We decided to give this a try. The menu looked good, lots of delicious choices I chose the Dutch Treat and my wife chose Van Gogh. The look was great the smell was to die for but when I bit into my sandwich the Sausage was so hard it was like taking a bite out of a piece of tire. Bacon on the Van Gogh was crispy. The only let down is that coming to this cart for the first time we should have read the menu a little better because we wanted egg on our sandwich and it did not come with them. Instead we should have ordered the Windmill and the Holla sandwiches which have egg. So as for a first impression, not impressed. Please be sure to read the menu and description of each sandwich CAREFULLY before ordering. 😞

Absolutely amazing if you have a gluten intolerance! They don't charge extra for gluten free and it tastes better than 99% of the gluten free substitutions out there!

Also the staff is very friendly
