and was recommended this bar after eating at Kann by our server. Upon entering staff sat us (group of 4) in a booth area, I had moved a chair to make it comfortable. Within 5 minutes, a server approached and I thought was inquiring about our drink order. In a condescending tone made us feel completely unwelcomed by saying she looked up that we had 3 drinks prior and we were giving “signs of over intoxication and we’re going to slow down our alcohol consumption” mind you we were not at all sloppy at all and actually our party only had 2-3 cocktails over the course of 3 hours at dinner at Kann with myself only having 2 cocktails at dinner. I completely understand a venue taking precautions over situations that arise over those that over indulge but this was abhorrent and totally unnecessary. There was not any person in our party over intoxicated and we were recommended to go downstairs from our waiter at Kann.

Absolutely terrible experience and walked out flabbergasted. I went back to our hotel bar and the staff was in shock when we told this story.

Let me provide context before I craft this 1 star review. I’m a nice person, my history shows reviews that reflect positive reviews as I like to support great small businesses.

We (group of 4) had a fantastic dinner at Kann where we spent north of 600 dollars. Our server recommended we come here after dinner for cocktails. When we arrived there was a table to our right who has just knocked over a glass and shattered it from being a bit sloppy. We have no problem with that, sometimes accidental things happens when we have a few too many, it is what it is, not something that bothered me.

Then, is when the most jaw dropping moment happened. We were getting situated and were waiting for our server to come to the couch. A blonde women (I wish I got her name I was so flabbergasted), came over and gave us a lecture on our cocktail order history at Kann, unprovoked perceived assumption on us showing signs of over intoxication and told us “they want to slow down our alcohol consumption”. My jaw dropped. We weren’t being aggressive, our most offensive crime was laughing too much and having a good time. We walked out as we did not want to give this place our hard earned money anymore. I’ve been in cocktail lounges all around the world , been sloppier and have never had this issue.

It sucks because it put such a sour taste on our amazing Kann experience. Go to Kann, never step foot in this overpriced, pretentious spot if I were you. They’re obviously owned by the same group so it’s extremely disappointing.

By the way, I wrote this soliloquy 10 min after this event happened…so you tell me if I was “too drunk”. Lol

Maybe I’m just not a bar person, but this felt a little stuffy and uninviting to me. We swung by after dinner and got two drinks and an appetizer. Drinks were, in my opinion, just ok. They were fun but felt a little underwhelming. The corn dogs however, were the best corn dogs of my life. I’d say this spot is worth a try, but be prepared for a high price point for what you’re getting.

This is my favorite zero proof drinks bar. Their zero proof drinks are so tasty, and the combination of flavors will have you feeling good. Their finger food is delicious. My favorites were the chicken, potatoes, and steak. If they served the same okra that they do at Kann, I would be so happy.

Intimate atmosphere, but it's laid back.

Mimi the host was so amazing, kind and hospitable. Just called my uber as we speak and felt compelled to leave some kind words for her. Thank you Mimi and bartenders. Great service and comfort overall. Had the mango puree cocktail. Beautiful representation.

Across the board, stellar. Best dining experience I've ever had, with some food, a boozy drink and a non-spirit drink.

Cool atmosphere. Drinks are good. But why are we paying downtown Miami prices in Portland? Stupid. Mandatory 22% gratuity and 50% price of an entire bottle for one drink. Really. $27 for one drink where the bottle is $45. Unnecessarily expensive. Not a great location. Strange.

The small plate corn dogs were pretty good and the drinks were good, but not amazing. Also, be prepared to add an extra 42% to your bill because the Service Fee is 22% and it doesn't go directly towards livable wages, so tipping is an additional 20%.
For the quality of the drinks and the food, it was not worth it and I don't recommend coming here.
There are places within a mile that will have more intricate and balanced cocktails and the food is equally as good, if not better. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hype is very expensive. $18 min for a cockatiel and 22% service added automatically to the bill. 🤯

Can’t say I will go back. Cocktails were just ok (and took forever to get.). Food was mostly fried and too sweet for my liking . All tables are super low so you are eating on your lap. I did like the wallpaper and design of the bar.

22% mandatory service fee and then ask for additional tip! Such a rip off! Would not go back!

Got lucky (I think) and was able to walk in for a drink and snacks. This place is not cheap, so def a splurge for a happy hour, but drinks and food were excellent. Had jerk chicken skewers and shrimp plantain bites. Service was a little over-the-top for Portland.
