Traveled to Portland for the first time on my Birthday yesterday. Landed and wanted to try different coffee places as we’ve heard so much about the Portland area coffee. Stopped here due to a cute Coraline sign they had out. Got to the counter, asked the male who was helping us about flavoring of a specific coffee on their board. He replied as rude as humanly possible….. “This isn’t Starbucks!” My spouse immediately stopped further interaction and just stared at him. After an awkward silence I made my attempt at continuing the transaction…. I explained STILL BEING NICE that we knew it wasn’t Starbucks and that we were not locals and just wanted to try something new. He just stared at me blankly….. I then asked if a latte was just a normal latte? His face was more than annoyed and he goes “yeah!!” At this point it was clear that any and everything that came out of our mouth was going to piss this guy off and he finally asked …. “What kind of milk ?” I just said whatever you have is fine. He repeated…. “whatever?” That annoyed him too it seems…he then punches the register while complaining to his coworkers he hadn’t been on his break yet and stopped off to the back. The other ppl there seemed nice but the experience was basically ruined….. didn’t even really drink the coffee. The guys was the only non ethnic person working the register around 1:15 pm that day incase this company actually cares to look into the staff they employ. Guys a horrible experience and it may not mean much but we are certainly going for other coffee spots in the future.

Stumptown’s airport locations need to get their operations in order. The south concourse location had no cold brew. On previous visits the new D gates location once also had no cold brew and another time had no drip coffee - in the morning!

Yikes the customer service was terrible. Simple question about the product and the person said” there is a paper with information about the product.” I just asked if it was leak proof. Anyways didn’t buy anything even thought I wanted to get the travel mug.

The cashier a male was pleasant and he took my order. The barista had a scowl on her face that entire time and was so nasty to me when I asked simply if it was my drink she called out. It sounded like she said “whole milk” instead of oat milk and I was verifying. And then I couldn’t taste any pumpkin spice so I kindly asked if it was it there and she told me to stir it (I already had). Anyway the sweet guy added more and it tastes like pumpkin. I don’t write many reviews and typically if it is a positive experience. Her attitude compelled me to. A beautiful new airport remodel and her attitude don’t mix.

I walked up to the counter to a women on her phone. She was pushy and rude in a standoffish way. She made me feel like it was an inconvience that I was there to get coffee.

The guy that actually made my coffee (who seemed new as she directed him the amount need for a quad shot) was actually friendly and smiled, he is the only reason I gave a 2nd star.

The coffee is so-so but really is not worth the $9 for the limited amount received.

As a frequent flyer, I’ve always enjoyed Stumptown at PDX, but things seem different since the new location opened after the PDX remodel. It’s become really hard to get anyone’s attention. The last time I was there, the entire staff was chatting and tasting honey while a long line formed. Eventually, someone came to the register, but instead of taking my order, she just mumbled something and walked away. The people in line behind me exchanged uncomfortable glances and laughed awkwardly. It was such a bizarre experience. While the coffee still tastes the same, my drink was lukewarm. I miss the old staff—they were amazing. One cashier even gave me a mask once when I forgot mine, knowing I was concerned about bringing an illness to my elderly family members.

Barista is so friendly. Coffee so good. Look how talented she is making this cat on my foam. It's so cute I don't even want to drink it!

Should have just closed on Labor Day. One employee standing in front looking down but making sure we went in the correct way, which was blocked off so everyone was going through the exit. One employee standing at the register, only to be told to read the handwritten signs that said “cash only” and “cold drinks only” she then explained she “doesn't have enough employees to steam”. Horrible customer service. Does it take more than 2 employees to make hot drinks?? Then don’t even open. We walked right to the Starbucks, saw 30+ hot drinks being made in the time I waited, Which was not long at all. Wont even try next time to give them my business.

The negative reviews are true, this is nothing like a regular Stumptown Coffee shop. I ordered my usual vanilla iced latte but they didn’t have any homemade vanilla bean syrup and only had Monin syrups in flavors I didn’t want. I assumed they would at least use simple syrup but they didn’t even have that? How does a coffee shop not have any simple syrup? So either I get it unsweetened or use a flavored syrup I don’t like, which ruins the drink for me either way.

A nice spot off the regular busyness of the airport, really good coffee.

Dietary restrictions: Got an oat milk latte.

Online the hours are 4am-10pm. It's says verified by phone call one week ago. It is 9:11 and they are very much closed. My flight got delayed from 8:24 pm until 1:46 am. At least, that's the latest delay. So I'm especially bummed about this no coffee situation.

Everything is great except the espresso drink quality :( If anyone who manages how drinks are made is reading this, espresso drinks with milk would taste SO MUCH better if the milk wasn’t completely burnt and scalding. Not to be prissy but that’s just not how those drinks are meant to be made.. it’s kind of the same as serving burnt food tbh. It seems like other reviews call this out too, does Stumptown even care about coffee?! ?

The coffee was excellent, with a wide variety of options. I tried the latte, and it was perfectly hot. It's a great spot to grab a coffee at the airport.
