Taqueria El Capullo is the real deal. Authentic Mexican street tacos. I've had the asada, carnitas, cabeza, campechano (blend of asada and chorizo), and al pastor tacos at various times and have never been disappointed. The tacos come with grilled onions that just make it all so much better. I've also had the horchata and churros. Honestly, everything is so good! Plus it's relatively affordable and is very casual. Highly, highly recommend. It's my favorite taco spot in Portland and I'm from South Texas, so I know what I'm talking about.

This place is so so good. They have the best tacos and the best Beria consume around town!! The food and service is amazing!!! Also, you can order it and take it over to J West and enjoy a beer, which is what I usually do.

This is the real deal. Best Mexican food in Portland. We tried pretty much everything, and it was all spot on. I reccomend the Alambre (mixed meats, peppers, onions cheese and a stack of amazing tortillas)

Felt like I was back in Mexico! This place doesn't look like much from the outside but the folks are warm and friendly, service was speedy, and the food was delicious. We had quesabirrias and tacos- went back for more! They even have heat lamps so you can stay cozy on a cold day. We'll definitely be back!

Taqueria El capullo saved my life. I was on a 30 mile bike ride where I did not bring any snacks or enough water on a 90 degree day… I know… I stopped cause I smelled delicious food that brought me back to my childhood and times in Mexico... Mi cultura beckoned me. I had yet to find any authentic Mexican food in Portland (Im originally from Southern California the best place Mexican food can be found outside of Mexico of course ?) but this place seemed hopeful. And I was correct! This place is a tiny oasis of authentic reasonably priced Mexican food. I had a flor De jamaica drink and ordered the Lengua torta and added beans. It was soooo good! I'm full and satisfied and no longer dying of hunger or thirst. Muchisimas gracias! I will be back!
