I received a recommendation to try this restaurant by a clerk in a nearby tienda so I walked over to check out the place.
Definitely a strip mall / locals in the know vibe. The counter guy was friendly and answered my questions. He recommended the carnitas taco but I think I should have tried the Pollo instead.
Ordered a queso birria, a carne asada and a carnitas taco. No consomme broth was included in the order which was dissapointing.
The tacos were freshly prepared. The flavors were simple and the fillings were ample. The tacos were soft but not served double tortilla layer with which I am accustomed to from other establishments.
The food was filling but unremarkable.
I ordered the huevos rancheros to go. It was a huge meal with rice and beans a little avocado and sour cream. The rice was well flavored. The beans were good and I really like the sauce. The meal came with extra tortillas, you can choose flour or corn, and two sauces one green one red. I really like the green, it tasted fresh. My only complaint was that my eggs were a little overcooked which could have been because I got my meal to go. Overall, it was good and I will definitely go back again.
Food was good for the price. I had a Super Burrito and it was priced $13.50. Not to bad, I just about finished it all.
6/7 stars

Today is the third time that I am going to eat often
The 2 previous kisses were very good.
But today, 09/1/24, with all due respect, it was very poorly washed.
It had too strong a smell

It’s like having your own abuela cooking you home made meals. The hand made corn tortillas and fresh salsa are worth the price of admission alone. Plus, the owners are so kind and polite, I can’t imagine how anyone couldn’t appreciate this authentic taqueria.

I've been going here for years, the food is delicious with huge portions and low prices even after all the food inflation. The chicken fajitas, tamales, mole, and pork chile verde are particularly good choices.

This has definitely always been my go-to for authentic food. Who doesn't like a good taco. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but lately, Estrellas really showed that they can care less about the customer and more about a business transaction. Heads up on calling them before arriving. Some days they are not open at 9am. Today I waited 40min for a phone order. When I arrived to pick it up, the doors were locked, and they were not open yet. I continued to wait in my truck another 20min for my order, a burrito, and 2 tacos. They do offer a good selection of food, but for the price range at restaurant level, I'd rather endure a much better experience personally. Time to branch out and try something new. It was fun while it lasted. Good luck.
Sincerely, A Graveyard Worker

The service was horrible. They literally served four tables before mine, even though the other people got into the restaurant after me. Mind you, I had to go ask them after 1 hour that my food was still not there, and they still took another 20 minutes to finally get my food to my table. After that, the girl who was giving me and my parents our food threw my parents' food on the table. Then, she took another 15 minutes to actually give me MY food. When my parents started to eat, the food tasted really bad. My parents said that the eggs on their plate were raw when they specifically said that they didn't want them raw. I don't know if it was the fact that I was mad, but the food just tasted horrible, and my parents lost their appetite because of how mad they were. I forgot to mention that the waiter said, "Oh, the other food was easier to make, so we made it first. Sorry." Even though I used to come here a lot when I was younger, I will certainly not be coming back here ever again.
