First of all, Leif and the rest of the team here were phenomenal. Unfortunately, the food was rather, blah. Most things were tasty, but just not what I was hoping for. The southern fried chicken was more what I would call a chicken fried chicken. It was two boneless pieces, I believe thighs, that were breaded and fried really well, but then gravy was poured on top, making them soggy. If I had known I would have gotten the gravy on the side or skipped it all together, I don’t feel the gravy added to the dish at all. It was decent for a hotel restaurant, but there are definitely a plethora of excellent restaurants in the area for something a bit of a step up.
Trendy! Great for date night and cocktails. Staff is friendly and amicable. Atmosphere is quaint and welcoming.

Outstanding service, great table and a surprise birthday desert-this team went out of their way to help celebrate my Mom's birthday. Highly recommend.
Taylor Street Tavern delighted our senses. The Buffalo cauliflower was delicious. My meat eating husband enjoyed it as much as I did. His fish and chips were delicious as well. I ordered the house salad and salmon which was perfectly paired. I also ordered the spicy pomegranate margarita which had the right amount of kick. Our server was friendly and helpful! He suggested the Buffalo cauliflower. We will be back when in downtown Portland.
I came here once before going to a comedy show near by and didn’t know what to expect. However the minute I walked in Leif greeted me and my party in such a comprehensive way; professional and efficient with a touch of fun. These are the experiences that make me want to return to a business. Costumer service and the quality we expect from it can be found at this establishment.

We were seated in a quiet area as requested as my husband is hearing impaired. Choice between lunch or brunch we both choose brunch. Both meals were outstanding, cooked to perfection. When I said I couldn't eat potatoes I was offered a fruit bowl which was grand. The coffee kept flowing and the waiter was delightful.
This is a nice restaurant with good food but don't go on Mother's Day! I made a reservation a couple weeks prior for 8 people. When we arrived we found out that it was a buffet only for $50 per person with a mandatory 22% tip and the buffet didn't even include coffee. All drinks were extra. Had I known this in advance I would have chosen somewhere else. We had 3 kids and 3 senior women in our group of 8...none of us eat $50 worth of food. Service was OK but not great.
Lovely small corner restaurant. Medium size menu. Good prices on bottles of wine. Patrick the server was very good.

House Drafts are best. Beer collections are great. Crews are generous.

This is one of our favorite places in Portland. The food is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. I don't think many people know about this place, because you can always get a table and you shouldn't be able to always get a table here. It's our go-to when in Portland.
We picked this restaurant for pizza week. The service is pretty slow. We waited for our drinks for quite some time and they finally arrived just before our food came. We noticed that the people seated after us got their drinks before we did. The pizza was ok, but the sauce tasted like it olive brine in it. My Caesar salad was dry. We asked for pepper flakes and they never came. The pepper wasn't coming out of the pepper shaker, but knew it wasn't worth asking for more. It was ok, but didn't meet our expectations. It looks like such a nice restaurant that you would expect the food to be as delicious as the place is beautiful. Not the case.
Had a great experience here -- everything from the cocktails to the starters, entrees and desserts was best in class. Each of us felt that what we ordered had to be the best thing on the menu (Tavern burger, Tavern dip, chicken piccata), and I want to give a special shout out to the bread pudding dessert recommended by our waiter -- possibly the Platonic ideal of the form, no kidding around. This was a fairly random choice of restaurant for us (we needed something within walking distance of our hotel, with something for everyone), and we feel like we struck gold. We even tried to go back the next night, but it was closed for a private event -- guess we'll just have to wait till our next Portland trip!
My boyfriend and I had dinner here on a Friday night and were overall pleased with the experience. It seems like the restaurant might be at least occasionally understaffed, because when entered (about an hour before the posted closing time), the bartender also acted as the general server (though our dishes were brought out by someone in the kitchen), and we were told to grab a menu at the door and seat ourselves (not a problem at all, but could be a signal that there's one or two people not on the floor that could be). The kitchen is shared with the whiskey bar across the hotel lobby, so some of the offerings are available at both locations (there's no difference in price).
The ambiance was nice, though I can see it being loud and echoey when full. The tables are close together which wasn't an issue for us because there weren't too many people, so we still managed to get one that was a little more secluded.
The food was good, it was a little salty, but nothing crazy and we were both able to acclimate to the flavors after a few bites. I'd definitely eat there again if I'm in the area. Don't be worried about descriptions that say it's an upscale eatery, the prices were pretty manageable, especially for a big city and there's no special dress code or anything to stick to.
