food here is alright for a downtown deli, but the team is super friendly. anytime I'm there they always make me feel welcome, super appreciative of that. shelves are decently stocked
Elephants is a Portland standby. The food is superb, and varies from delicious hot entrees, to flavorful soup, to healthy wraps, with variation at each location. The location near NW Burnside offers the most options, with hot foods like chicken tomatillo casserole and moussaka. There are also gifts and wines. Elephants is one of my favorite Portland places for food on the go. The owners are nice people.

They were out of a lot of to-go cold soup, but the people were nice, and the food was delicious. I even bought an extra sandwich to go! Don't skip out on the cookies they're soft, and they really hit the spot for that post-meal sweets craving.
