“Legitimately some of the best pizza I've had in Portland, and that's coming from someone who's been to almost all of the heavy-hitters in town. Tastes obviously vary, but I don't think anyone who likes wood-fired pizza will leave disappointed.
We started with the fresh baked palloncino bread, which was warm & delightfully chewy with a subtle lemony bite. However, it was super salty (and I say this a habitual over-salter). Thankfully the flaky finishing salt was easy to brush off, which tamed the saltiness. We also had the Belgian endive caesar. The crisp endive mixed well with the creamy dressing & the croutons were out of this world (not shocking, really).
For pizzas, we had the leek & hazelnut and the salami supremo. While the cheese and toppings were top notch, the doughy crust was the star. Perfectly charred, yet soft and chewy. Just excellent.
The tiramisu we had for dessert was also very light and dare I say refreshing.
Service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere left something to be desired, but wasn't bad & didn't diminish the experience at all. Just maybe not quite up to par with other places in that price range.
Overall, a great experience. I will certainly be back!“

“The restaurant is spacious and the service was good. Our group of five shared several dishes, and it came out to almost $30 per person. The seafood pancake and kimchi stew were both tasty. The meat portions felt a bit on the smaller side, but the variety of banchan was great and they were enjoyable as well. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.“

“Astera is, without question, the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the moment the evening began, it was clear that this was not just a meal, but a thoughtfully curated experience rooted in passion, artistry, and deep respect for food and hospitality.
The food was stunning, both in flavor and presentation, with each dish carefully explained by the staff, from its ingredients to how it was prepared. The service was exceptional, with the team moving together seamlessly and sharing the history of the owner and his passion, which clearly resonated through every staff member. The ambiance was delicate and relaxing, perfectly complementing the experience.“

“Vegan noodles and tea leaf salad need work. I was disappointed by them especially for the price point. Noodles were just noodles, a little bok choy and mushrooms. Looked like something I would cook myself when I was running out of groceries. Carrot salad and beef curry were great though!“

“Went for lunch to sister restaurant that serves a wonderfully fresh and inventive Thai street food menu. Came back for 9 course prix fixe dinner & great bottle of wine instead of wine pairing. Food is plated beautifully. Service is excellent, friendly and well timed. Dishes entice you from first whiff to last bite. Favorites included Hokkaido Scallop in coconut cream sauce, which wowed us with smoky Thai herbs commanding the sweet and savory flavors. My wife enjoyed the short ribs cured in anchovy paste with beets & radish. We both slurped down the deconstructed Tom Kha, elevated by adding fresh ora King Salmon and combining with wild cordyceps mushrooms.“

“I've. eaten all over Southeast Asia including street amrt I've eaten at many Southeast Asian restaurants, including in Cambodia, Malaysia and Laos, and can unequivocally say this is one of the best meals I've ever had. “Let's put another five star review on the boards! If you ever suffer the Injustice of visiting Swan Island you can totally compensate for that by eating these taquitos. If you are a foodie who likes taquitos it's worth up to a 4-mile drive. The taquitos only come in orders of four and you must choose all one Style. All the taquitos have potato inside and the meat options are served as a giant pile on top. Their well made, crunchy, clean tasting, and have just the right toppings on them.
Update, excellent beer battered fish tacos too!“

“We were there for the first time on the evening of January 10, 2026. We sat at the bar for a bit because we were a little early for our reservation. Michelle brought us a couple of beers and we ordered a plate of six oysters. She chatted cheerfully with us while she busily poured drinks for others and then introduced us to her two sons and a son’s girlfriend, who all also work there. Everyone was so friendly and kind! When our table was ready, Michelle thanked us for being there and said that it was great to meet us. At our table, we ordered another half dozen oysters, a caesar salad, a couple more beers, and two big bowls of cioppino. Absolutely delicious with the large, thick slices of freshly-made garlic bread for dunking. This place is a true gem. Four generation of family working there and their love for the place and what they do shows. Can’t wait to go back!!“

“Came for some bites to eat, and a date night drink. Great ambiance and food. Lovely bartenders except they were the weakest drinks I've had in town. I'm not a big drinker. One is usually my limit, 2 for big nights out. I'm a serious lightweight but I couldn't taste the anything but lime juice in my margarita. I have a hard time with a lot of citrus so gave it to my hubby and he asked if there was any tequilla in it. Then I ordered a vodka/soda instead. Again, just tasted like soda water and ice. Worth a 2nd try, but we were disappointed.“

“There's a lot of classy joints out there classy joints. You know, good bars, great service. Japanese whiskeys hiding in the nooks and crannies. The Gibson, though, truly outstanding service beyond beyond like, how would you even qualify or quantify the excellence of Bella? Not beyond measure, but like second to none service. Mixology, respect and love and just everything all stirred up (or shaken if thats your preference) into one perfect experience with a Christmas bow.
The Gibson has some skill dare I say genius with mixing, service and ambiance all around. I love what they are doing here.“

“Delicious. Syrian/Lebanese - the flavors were smoother/softer than I’m used to. The pita was soft, closer to a fluffy flour tortilla, and the sandwiches we had that came in a pita were actually wrapped in a trifolded pita and pressed like a panini. The felafel were big and delicious. The baklava was in a orange blossom syrup and was perfect. The service was personable and on point. It’s on an active block of N Williams, so it’s a fun area to walk around before/after. Highly recommended.“

“We are so grateful for the staff accommodating us bringing our infant. We were concerned that we would have to give up dining out at nice restaurants, but the staff was so welcoming of us with our infant. They found a table for us where we could easily sit down her car seat, and as a result, we were able to dine out while she slept peacefully.“
