Consistently amongst the the best dining experiences in Portland. Great value. Produce driven dishes that are perfectly executed with flair and care. Tasting menu format offers diners 6 dishes with snacks to start and small sweet bites to finish for a ridiculous $90. Wine pairings are adventurous, thoughtful and successfully executed.
Overall a fantastic place, my #8 rated restaurant in Portland & the cheapeast of those 8. Under $70/person for 6 courses. 3 of them were "one of the best things I've ever had"-tier (tempura sweet potato with brown butter dashi, leek salad, tonka bean dessert), 2 more were really great (arancini, carrot/crab soup), one was just good (calamarata pasta). The cookies are also terrific, gotta try those. Probably skip the rest of the candy tray though, not worth $3.50 for normal caramels.

I've been in Portland for 10 years, and Coquine has been on my radar for a while now. I was so excited when my friend made reservations (about a month in advance). I absolutely love the location near Mt. Tabor. It's really special, sitting there on its own with the market right next to it. I parked right in front of the restaurant. We were seated next to the window, and it ambience was lovely. I think you can get away wearing what you want, but dressing up is 100% appropriate....read full review
