This is what Michelin stars are made of! The tasting menu takes you along for a ride where every course is unique, the ingredients are carefully thought out, and your palette is taken on a journey around the world. Exceptional items included the sea buckthorn sorbet, the foie gras and cheese tarts, and a palette cleansing mint-watermelon foam. Do yourself a favor and opt in for the sourdough, it was my favorite part of the whole experience.
Recommended dishes: Poached Oysters, Housemade Sourdough Bread, Foie Gras
This is a wonderful restaurant! It is a bit puzzling to find. When you arrive at 515 SW Broadway, there is no evidence of this restaurant. It is inside a mini-mall, essentially, way in the back. Be brave. Go on in through the small set of mall doors and keep walking to the end! It is up the stairs. There is a small sign. When you walk in the door, you enter a dark blue room and are offered an aperitif. How lovely is that. The restaurant is small, and has a lovely intimate feel.It is also prix fixe, and you get what is on the menu. It is wonderful to trust chef John Collin and sous-chef Wyatt VandenBerghe and let them feed you! They started with two sets of small bites. Two types of oysters topped with caviar or foam, a duck liver crepe triangle, a cheese tart, and smoked fish on fried potatoes. The first course was "egg", served with caviar, cube, and cream. Next up were small Daikin radish pieces served in a dashi broth with a spot prawn, and winter squash tempura. Both were just wonderful. The pasta was a swirl of spaghettini served with a sea urchin sauce and white truffle. This was fantastic! I could have eaten a huge bowl of this. The fish was a lightly cooked piece of black cod with buttermilk miso veloute...and again, perfect! The meat course was a long-cooked beef shirt rib served au jus.The two desserts were, first, sea buckthorn sorbet and a melon granita. The next was a celebration of hazelnut: cake, and gelato.Everything was perfectly cooked, and the entire experience was delightful. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this lovely restaurant. I didn't do it, but they have an optional wine pairing. You just have to believe that the restaurant is inside!!

Maybe the best dining experience I've had. Chill, non-pretentious vibes with excellent food (that would usually feel pretentious), drinks (wine pairings were perfect), atmosphere (great tunes and mood), and friendly service. Highly recommend.

One of the most delicious and surprising food experiences we have ever had. Cozy atmosphere, warm welcome, excellent ingredients and high end techniques. We will be back!

Amazing food!!!! And the wine pairing (extra $$ to add on) goes very very well with the menu. But be warned... the price for a chef's menu plus wine pairing is not for the faint of heart. The ONLY reason I give the atmosphere a three star is because the seats need a little bit more cushion.....my bum was getting sore sitting there for the amazing food.
Dietary restrictions: My brother -in-law is allergic to eggplant and their pasta dish this time around has eggplant in it. They were happy to sub out a beautiful tomato sauce. (On a side note.... don't go to places like this with allergies....it puts a strain on the chefs and takes away from the flavors they are trying to expose you to).

I have come here 5+ times and EVERY TIME has been a journey of flavors and I’ve loved every visit. Thanks so much to the hardworking and knowledgeable people that work here. Y’all are the best! (Second to those drink pairings)
This was such an intimate experience. We went for our wedding anniversary. It's a small restaurant in the mezzanine of Morgan's Alley in downtown Portland. We had 8:30 reservations, so once their earlier seating tables left, there were only four tables in the restaurant. When we arrived, the downtown area around the restaurant felt fine and was a little sketchy when we left (around 11pm)The service team is small - the Owner/Exec Chef, the Sous Chef, and the Somm/Host. it was so impressive to watch them expertly work their craft while also experiencing a kitchen that didn't feel really hectic or chaotic. This feels like a well-oiled machine.Instead of a menu, you get a written guide with a list of courses and the central food that is being showcased - ours was eggs, cucumber, pasta, fluke, pork, and peach. At least three dishes are the kind you remember for the rest of your life - the eggs, the fluke and the pork - Plus having access to talk to the chefs was really insightful. We talked to them about outfitting the space, where they source their ingredients, how they get the fluke and pork loin to be so incredible, etc. It was so memorable. We also got the wine pairing, which I would also recommend. Mike brings some really lovely wines that are delightful on their own but even more incredible when paired with the food. It'll definitely be on our rotation of places to each for a lovely night out, and I recommend it for yours as well.

A truly memorable experience - each dish was absolutely incredible. Definitely at the top of the list of prix fixe meals I've had in Portland. Location seemed odd to me, but once in the restaurant you feel like you're tucked away in magical. Intimate little space. Service was impeccable and so, so impressive that it's run, start to finish, by just three men.

One of a kind tasting menu. Bought from the former Roe owners by one of the chefs and with a new less exclusively seafood focused menu everything here is simply incredible. This place does more with a staff of three than other places do with 20.

Coming from San Francisco, I visited Tercet on a PDX roadtrip. WOW! Pricing is affordable for a luxurious fixed course meal (maybe 7 courses i think)? I brought my own bottle of sparkling wine, and it was $300 including gratuity for two.I think the food quality was at least as good as San Francisco’s michelin restaurants.I have been to Atelier Crenn, Petit Crenn, Gary Dankos to name a few, and Tercet was as good as if not better. The team is only 3 people (two chefs and a sommelier) but there weren’t too many guests so service was impeccable.I think there was an oddly large amount of furniture / tables considering the Tercet’s team size, but i hope they grow into it. For now i think they would be better off with fewer seatings for a more intimate feeling, but understand about storage. The dessert was good, but it was the least impressive of the courses, which was a bit of a bummer to end on. I think the meal peaked at the middle with a pea dish that was incredible. I am not a huge fan of black cod usually as it can have a bad texture if not cooked well, but they executed it flawlessly and was amazing.I would 100% recommend anyone in the PDX area to attend, and it’s worth going to PDX solely for this restaurant (if you live on the west coast).

A seemingly newer space with some talented chefs, good service, perfect little ambiance and a wonderful tasting menu.
Best tasting menu in Portland. Our sommelier Mike was great with explaining why he chose the pairing. The food was creative and the flavors were a nice exploration. Definitely recommend getting the bread add on. It was really good. The restaurant is in the mezzanine of Morgan Alley so you look over closed shops. They do a great job within the restaurant to keep you focused within the restaurant space, which reminded me of a chic lodge.

Absolutely amazing meal…one of the top 3 I have ever had in my life. Went here on the last night of vacation and it was the highlight of the trip. Food was brilliant in concept and execution, and service was top notch. Seriously impressive what these guys are doing with a small team.Tip: get the optional wine pairing…thoughtfully done with generous pours.
Fantastic experience - inventive, interesting AND delicious meal with top notch service. Others have done a great job in their reviews and photos which do justice to the beautiful plates these guys are putting out.Too often though, I find "inventive and interesting" to be synonymous with dishes that are just not truly delicious, enjoyable food; Tercet hits the mark for truly enjoyable and delicious as well which is where many Michelin starred restaurants fall short in my experience. It's a high price point (for Portland at least) but when you see the quality of the product and the time they put into each plate, it makes sense. I hope they'll do well... but maybe not as well as they deserve so I can stand a chance to get a reservation and head back again sometime soon.
