Thai Bloom is one of those places you go when you just want a good, no-stress meal. The menu has all the usual Thai favorites, and most dishes taste exactly how you expect them to. If you like things spicy, you’ll probably want to ask for extra heat, but the flavors are solid and comforting either way. Portions are big enough that you might end up with leftovers, which is always a win. The vibe inside is relaxed and easygoing. It’s clean and welcoming, nothing fancy, just a good spot to sit down with friends or grab a weeknight dinner. The staff is generally friendly and quick, though when it gets busy you might wait a little longer for refills or the check. Prices feel fair for the area, especially considering how much food you get. Some dishes hit better than others, so it’s worth trying a few things to see what fits your taste. Overall, Thai Bloom isn’t trying to reinvent anything, but it’s a dependable place to get a tasty meal without any fuss. It’s the kind of restaurant you find yourself returning to just because it’s easy, comfortable, and you know exactly what you’re getting.

The soup was like a warm hug. The coconut milk, the spices. It’s the best Thai I have had and I travel for work. The happy hour menu is fun and delicious. The service is kind. Please come here, you won’t be disappointed.

So unsatisfied!!!I’ve gone to this place a lot, and I like the food most of the time but this last time I had beef waterfall salad and the meat was really really chewy to the point that I got tired and stopped eating (the taste was watery and flavorless and oily too ) I asked the waiter about it and he’s comment shocked me. He said yeah this food has low quality beef and it should be chewy. You could order the other one for better quality beef. Really??? Why do you serve low quality at all.?
I was so unsatisfied with the food and how waiter reacted. I know this place has so many options but you should stick to safe ones otherwise who knows!

Great Thai restaurant with a cozy ambience and a wide variety of delicious dishes. Service was quick, and everything we tried tasted amazing. One of the few family-friendly spots open late on Fridays and Saturdays. Bonus points for the well-stocked drink menu!

I’m finally getting around to writing this, but Thai Bloom on NW 23rd absolutely deserves the praise. I was scrolling through places I’ve been and instantly remembered how much I loved this spot—it’s easily one of my favorite dining experiences in Portland.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and seated with ease, even though the place had a great buzz of happy diners. The energy in the restaurant was contagious—everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and I was no exception.

Our server was a total gem—she walked me through the vegetarian options like I was a regular (I’m not even vegetarian, but she almost made me want to be). Her enthusiasm was so genuine and kind. And the food? Absolutely bursting with flavor. Every bite was a reminder of why I love Thai cuisine.

The location makes it even better. NW 23rd is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Portland—the charm of the old Victorian homes turned into boutiques and restaurants gives the whole street a welcoming, cozy vibe. Thai Bloom fits right in, and honestly, the food elevated the whole experience.

Staff super nice, and food was great, big portion size of drunken noodles. I'd only suggest a bit more salt!

Didn’t like the non vegetarian options much. Tom Yum soup was the best order that we got. I heard the drunken noodles are also really good.
The pineapple rice was lack luster and panang curry was too salty.
