Excelent tapas and coctails.
Wow. An incredible meal. Oysters, Blini (pop!), octopus and then albacore, rabbit, mackerel, and then doughnuts and ice cream. Wow wow wow!
The food was absolutely delicious! Salmon melted in your mouth. Forgot to take a picture of one roll because we ate it so fast (abacore tempura maki). They had happy hour when we arrived as well (430-530 W-M). The drink was good and a treat but probably wouldn't get it again...can't remember the name but it was a non alcoholic version of a cocktail. We ordered edamame, akanegi maki, salmon sashimi 5pc, abacore tempura maki, and the happy hr hand roll. Definitely will be back!

Takibi | Japanese Ramen & Restaurant offers a modern and inviting atmosphere with a cozy, warm, and beautiful dining environment. The menu features contemporary Japanese cuisine, including popular dishes like salmon sashimi, edamame, akanegi maki, and abacore tempura maki, which received high praise for their delicious and beautifully prepared quality. The cold noodles are especially enjoyed for their chewy texture and flavorful taste. The restaurant also offers an omakase experience, which many find fun and worthwhile, though some feel the portions are small and the value not quite matching the high price. The winter and spring omakase menus were described as similar, with minimal innovation and a lack of bold ideas, leading to some disappointment despite the enjoyable experience.
Customers appreciate the variety of iconic Japanese dishes served within a reasonable pace, with most meals taking around 1.5 to 3 hours. The staff's knowledge and friendliness are often highlighted, making for a welcoming experience. However, service inconsistency is noted, with some servers being attentive and others displaying impatience or attitude, which negatively impacts the overall impression. Wait times can be long, affecting the dining experience despite the excellent food.
During special events like Portland Dining Month, the restaurant provides well-curated courses, including tuna sashimi, black cod, and mochi cake, which are praised for their flavor, although portion sizes may be small. The environment is lively but can be loud, and prices are considered high, but many find the experience worthwhile for the quality and ambiance. Overall, Takibi offers tasty food and a stylish setting, with room for improvement in service consistency.
