I work for a Sales company in Beaverton and our Manager wanted to treat our whole team to a catered lunch. We decided to get away from Pizza, or Qdoba (YUCK), and try something different. OMG, the place hit the spot! We had 15+ orders and everyone wanted something different. The online ordering process was very simple. They had a TON of fantastic options. I had the BBQ Ribeye Steak and HOLY FREAKING YUM! Every single person in our office loved their food. The owner himself delivered to us. He ended up forgetting a bag of food that had our sides, veggies, yakisoba noodles, and a few other items from our order. We called him and he said he would bag it up and head right back. He went above and beyond to make it right. He brought us homemade Gelato with the missing sides. I am thoroughly impressed with this place and I can't wait until we get to have his food again! Wonderful experience. We had the team at Local Grind cater our holiday party this year. It was such an easy processes and the food was a huge hit. The chicken teriyaki and pork was very popular. This is some seriously tasty food. My experience has been limited to the chicken bentos... have tried teriyaki, bbq, garlic ginger, popcorn chicken. I prefer pulled chicken. Some of the best meat I've ever had, great seasonings and sauces (bomb sauce is great - kind of like a spicy Mayo but better). Give Local Grind your business!

Being assigned to order food for our annual holiday party, I had originally booked catering to be delivered. Once the executive orders were again extended and tightened we were trying to find creative ways to still thank our team members. The owner at The Local Grind, Larry, was amazing as he came up with some great ideas, some selflessly not even involving his catering. Wanting to provide a meal, we ordered to-go. Larry kindly provided the meals in a COVID friendly format with bentos, at no extra charge, that we gave to our team to enjoy for lunch and or take home. Not only did Larry help come up with a great option but the portion sizes he packed up were HUGE not to mention extra personal sauces he added. True Hawaiian style all around! The chicken was amazing as usual and ribs were unreal! All mixed up with the rice, soba, veggies and the mac salad ... I'm craving it all over again. We are looking forward to future orders with The Local Grind and can't thank them enough for saving the day.

Was hankering for some Hawaiian food so I gave them a shot via GrubHub. Soon after ordering, the owner called me to apologize for being out of beef (due to COVID supply issues). He made it up by providing an extra order of chicken and a couple macaroni salads. Great service, despite me not requiring him to do so. The food is amazing to boot. The medley of Hawaiian flavors was really great. I ordered it spicy and it came as such. Topped it off with their signature bomb sauce, which I'll order a bottle of next time! The value was excellent, only topped by superior customer service. These guys deserve your business. Your hunger will thank you.

DONOT hire this company for catering. I'm extremely upset and I am SOL with this decision. I got married Saturday September 7th. I contacted the local grind 7+ months before the date for catering and I was in contact with them numerous times to make sure everything was perfect for the ONE day we had to get it right. My venue was 1.5 hours from Portland..we made that VERY clear with them and they assured us they would account for that. They were scheduled to arrive for set up at 3:15pm before the ceremony started at 4:00. The big day: 3:55...no catering showed up. I'm standing in my dress, 5 minutes before walking down the isle and I have to stop to call them. They apologize and explain there's traffic.. The catering FINALLY shows up 2 hours late, and they arrive in 2 trucks, both arriving at different times. So half of appetizers get put out at cocktail hour...and they were supposed to all have been set up before the ceremony started so my guests didn't see people setting up during the ceremony. Dinner was late too of course..appetizers and utensils that we paid for to use FOR cocktail hour were put out at dinner because they were so late. The 12 bags of ice we paid for didn't get used..they were late. NO ONE got ice in their drinks at the bar I spent crap loads of money on. To top it off NO ONE has contacted me this entire week after my wedding. Not one lousy email! Nothing. I had so many vendors and guests coming from Portland and NONE of them were late. Catering was THE most important and high dollar vendor that day, and they ruined everything. I can't get a do over..I paid for late cocktail hour food, late dinner, late utensils, late ice, and horrible service. I am SO upset. The mariachi band that was hard to get in contact with even showed up on time. My cake showed up on time...everything but the $3,000 catering showed up on time. Imagine that this was your wedding day. Imagine the things you paid for not getting used...your guests not getting food..no ice for drinks...and then the company couldn't care less to at least apologize after the event or try to make it right. Absolutely disgusted with the situation. Anyone that runs a good business knows how to be on time for important events where you're paid $3k to be there. Anyone that runs an honest business knows you empathize with the customer and make it right when you've wronged them and the damage is irreparable. I'll never support this company from this point forward and I will never recommend this company to anyone. If anyone from the company reads this I hope you can reflect on this situation and think about how much you negatively effected our one day..and how you failed to do a single thing to fix the damage. It's irresponsible, it's unprofessional, and it's hurtful.

Warning this food is highly addictive it's no joke. Ive been a regular customer (addict) for over 10 year's and it's by far the best bento in Portland. I go to their food carts and have Doordash and GrubHub delivere it to my palace (I live in a palace) I've also used thier catering service to feed an entire football team event I had.
