Really great food and nice place. It’s a little more “sit down” than I was expecting, but nice spot to take a long breakfast.
first time, but it was horrible not coming back ever.
14.50 is not cheap for a burrito. Look up cheap breakfast and you come up. Not
Biscuits could be bigger for what they charge. Coffee is good.
The special today was amazing. Swooning over the maple candied leeks
Friendly, super fast, and delicious brunch options!
All in all I enjoyed my breakfast, just got off the plane from Southern California needed to find some breakfast quickly came down here to The New Deal Cafe, I ordered the farmhouse scramble which I did enjoy. Although the bacon was a little overcooked too crispy for my taste, the home fries were delicious. Their mushroom country gravy was like crack cocaine. I couldn't stop putting it on my food and the house biscuits were pretty sad. The Strumptown Brand coffee was also very good. I enjoyed it. The location kind of looked like a dive from the outside but it was very well seated on the inside, The atmosphere was nice with some grateful Dead on the radio and the service staff was very friendly, there is only residential parking so be ready for that. Please put pork sausage on the menu.
Placed a to go order and they didn't include any sauce for a meal that contained 3 different sauces. We called them three times to no answer and eventually left a voicemail to try and rectify the situation. They never called back. Food was incredibly bland without the promised toppings. An expensive way to ruin what could have been a nice weekend brunch.
Nice little neighborhood spot. Good food reasonable pricing. Children friendly.
I’ve been coming here for years and I love it. I’m so happy to have The New Deal Cafe in our neighborhood!

Good breakfast place especially the French toast and 🥞.
These fine people make an amazing veggie scramble that I could eat every single day. Employees are nice. Coffee is great. Lavender latte was delicious. I'll be back soon!
Good food
Reasonable prices
Good environment
And very friendly staff
Good quality food, thoughtful seasoning, friendly staff
Everyone who works here is upbeat, professional, and just generally pleasant to be around. The food is good, though I wish there were more options. However the kitchen is SO fast, that I think complicating the menu would be detrimental, so I get it.
My main gripe is the ordering/seating system. You’re supposed to order before getting a table, but every single time I go, there are multiple groups who have one or more people who immediately go save a table. Everyone in line likely has some level of table-anxiety, but the entitled seat-savers just make it worse for everyone. It makes me not want to come back.
I understand that staff does not have the time (or likely the desire) to police the policy, but it’s very frustrating. I just wish better/bigger/more signage existed to advertise the seating policy. Por que no, for example, has this same system, but with signs on each table, so self-policing is usually better there. Do yourself a favor and visit during non-peak hours to avoid the entitled seat-savers.
