Awesome! Highly recommended!!
It was a very disappointing dining experience at The Palm Court. The dining room is way too bright for dinner service, which was odd for such a lovely space. The service was utterly lacklustre and did not match the environment at all. One would expect an elevated and thoughtful service from the staff, but that was not the case. While the food was okay, it was delivered in the wrong order with the overall presentation missing the mark. For example, the butter pat on top of my steak had melted entirely before I received it.
I felt like we were in a dining hall, not a lovely restaurant. Whoever manages this restaurant has lost the plot related to service in one of downtown Portland's chicest restaurants. For example, a cocktail should be placed on a cocktail napkin, a steak knife should be delivered to the table in advance not after the meal has been served. Dim the lights in the dining room and add tealight candles to the table to catch the light of the crystal chandelier, and marble tables. This place and location has so much potential to be a wonderful bistro. I hope management sees this review. I'm happy to offer additional insight.

Can’t get a cocktail before 430 in this dump of a hotel.
It’s in a nice hotel lobby, but breakfast was unexceptional. The “fresh squeezed” OJ was from a container. The omelette was fine, if salty. Potatoes were reheated from frozen. I’d only return if I had to.

Food didn’t look appealing and tasted even worse. The latte was awful and the service was terrible. Kathryn was short, walked off while we were barely done ordering, and made the experience at such a pretty spot even worse. My friend’s cup of coffee wasn’t being served so we mentioned it, so when she finally brought it, she slammed it onto the table and quickly walked off. Don’t be in the service industry if you can’t be nice.
The restaurant itself is lovely, the service was horrible. Our waitress, Katheryn threw our coffees and silverware at us. She was horrible, and the food was mediocre. Won’t be returning here.

Totally disappointed. The setting is lovely, the people were friendly, but the food struggled to reach mediocrity. The heirloom tomato salad was embarrassing. Zero taste.

The heirloom tomato salad was one sad and tasteless hothouse tomato quartered with a few mozzarella balls. The chicken breast was small and very overcooked. The risotto substituted black pepper instead of developed flavors. Overall a very disappointing experience given the ratings and location.

We only had breakfast but it was great. Bobby did a great job of taking care of us.

Ate here for breakfast and had an overall good experience. The atmosphere is hard to beat. The knocks I have on are relatively slow service and my smoked salmon omelette contained cooked salmon from the residual heat from the eggs. It still tasted nice, but just wasn’t as elegant as I was expecting. My wife had the Eggs Benedict and had no complaints. Would definitely eat here again and try some other menu options.

Food here was excellent! We got the steak frites and seafood bouillabaisse and the flavors were great. I am usually very picky about food and have something to dislike about everything I get at restaurants but I truly did not have anything bad to say about this place. Got the cheesecake for dessert and the flavor was excellent also.Waiter was friendly and funny!0 complaints about this place.

Rarely do I leave a perfect review… but this place totally deserves it. During my stay at The Benson I ate here numerous times… breakfast lunch and dinner. This place rocks! Super surprised and super satisfied.

Dinner on Sunday February 18, 2024. A room half full but an endless wait for the dishes. Our dishes are good despite 30 minutes of waiting to get them. But then we're going to wait 40 minutes for our dessert, we're going to call the waitress twice for a single dessert and finally we're going to cancel it after 50 minutes of waiting, 50 minutes for a PANCAKE.We have a suite in the hotel, we wanted to dine in the hotel, a mistake! We regret that the restaurant did not even apologize for this wait!Mr and Mrs MORGANT.
