Wow, I love The Whole Bowl. I love that there aren't that many choices on the menu- I get overwhelmed with a big menu. The food was healthy, fresh, fast, tasty, and filling. I could walk up with my dog and order without being concerned with leaving him unattended while I run into a restaurant. I have no complaints. And I love to complain.
Best lunch in Portland. Best for you, best price. You cannot beat this simple bowl ?

On the days that I couldn’t make it to whole bowl I tried to replicate it at home. Don’t bother. There’s something fantastic about their tali sauce that just can’t be replicated.
