We had never eaten Burmese food before but decided to give it a try since our hotel was nearby - and we left mindblown. Their tea leaf salad is out of this world - if you like spicy. The chickpea/tofu fritters and samosas were also really good. In general, for vegans this is a perfect spot. Serving sizes are big and generous - we weren‘t able to finish everything (we ordered one starter, one salad and two entrees). Too bad we live far from Portland, otherwise you could consider us regulars from now on :)Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and even vegan options

I thought it was just okay. My husband and I passed by here and the smells were amazing enough for us to visit, but I thought it was a bit overpriced. For example, my Diet Coke was $4, and turns out the refill I asked for was also $4. Thought that should have been disclosed. The coconut curry was okay. Overall it’s a one and done for me.

Australian who was visiting Portland here. This was a solo visit to Portland after working in Seattle. The first time I came to eat here, the restaurant was fully booked out. So I got offered a seat in their bar next door. Turns out I had the whole place to myself! I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Suffice to say, the food was amazing. I recommend the Samoas, chicken curry w/ rice, and the Burmese desert cake. But what made my experience here so good wasn't the food even though it was amazing. It was the ambience, esp the music. The bartender had a really good taste in music and had her playlist on. I kept shazaming every song while eating. My favourite was speak your mind by Marc Benno. The ambience was so peaceful and it was the highlight of my time in Portland. She also made the best cocktail - the Pegu club. Hope to visit again next year when I'm back in the states to recreate the experience!

My number one choice for date night. Ambience is fantastic, staff is friendly and courteous, and the food is to die for. I would love to try the whole menu but that Coconut Noodle soup is one of the best meals I've ever had and I keep ordering that.

Our waitress was a gem of a human. She took time to chat and not only knew the menu well, but also knew the family story behind the small chain of locations. Very helpful and a complete delight .

Amazing food. Love the flavor and quality. Only criticism I’d give it is that it wasn’t spicy. Wish it was, but perhaps Burmese food isn’t spicy? I’d assume due to the region it would be more spicy like Yunan, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.

Only good things to say about this restaurant; the tea leaf salad, golden samosas, noodles and juices satisfy every time. Be sure to try the Burmese tofu(made with chickpeas instead of soy), can be made extra spicy with bird's eye chilis and pickled peppers.

Burmese on 21st! There's one on 26th; I don't know that one. I've had this location three times. It's tucked away with a side entrance with a cute and friendly feel. The staff is always delightful and knowledgeable. Sometimes they serve by robot. I prefer the people. What you want to know is about the food though. I've had the Green Tea Leaf Salad on three separate occasions and it's consistently impactful. Pow! What a punch of savory and citrus. It's just a salad? No, it's an experience I love the presentation. I'm getting it again the next time. Their samosa soup was more of a kapow! Knocked me out. Bits of samosa in a spice laden broth. I took some home and it was just as good the next day. The regular Burmese gold samosas? So tender and scrumptious. I'll fight you for them. The coconut noodle soup with tofu? Bam! Three spoonfuls and bing bing bing, we've got a winner! Maybe I'll try something new next time. There's eggplant curry and okra curry and chickpea fritters and pickled cauliflower. The vegan dishes alone are impressive. I'm sure their meat dishes stand up to any challenger. You want a fistful of fantastic and a meal that takes a jab of great flavors and delivers a perfect hook to the tastebuds? Zap! Straight to the kisser. That's where I like it. Love it!

Amazing food, this is a Portland must. Try the Green tea salad, samosas, noodles.. the beef curry is fantastic!! I haven't tried their cocktails yet but the options look delicious. Fantastic!

This Burmese restaurant was recommended by a groundskeeper in the Portland rose garden. It had the best curry. We had garlic chicken served by a robot named Spicy and a delicious tea leaf salad served by a waitress who looked exactly like a young Julie Andrews.

So, I'm Burmese and I have never had Ono khao soi (coconut chicken noodle) that is legit from a restaurant in my entire life. I have gone to Burmese restaurants in New York City that haven't impressed me at all compared to my family's cooking. But I can say that the Ono khao soi here is delicious! The flavor is exactly what I would expect, even down to the oil separation being perfect at the top of the curry soup. The noodles they use are the same brand that my family uses so it gave me a lot of nostalgia back when my auntie would make it for me regularly. It was my childhood favorite. My fiancé is not Burmese but he's vegetarian and he's not had Ono khao soi since way back when he was eating meat and he said the vegan version really hit the spot.My family is from Shan states, so I was thinking of trying the Shan noodle next (but I was a little afraid to order it off the bat since I am so picky). We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Best Burmese in Portland! Wish they delivered to camas wa though ); I cry because they once offered it and took it off. I would Uber eats this every week if possible. Big ups on the killer food! Just as good if not better than the SF Burmese restaurant I used to love going to! Top notch eats, definitely recommend the tea leaf salad, samosas, desserts and drinks! My go too (:

We were there once before today a couple of weeks back and had a really nice meal. Today, however, the food was not good and very over-priced for what we received. Also, two of the dishes were not as described on the menu! One of the dishes was a combination starter that was described as having samosas and tofu tots and what we received, for $34 which is such a rip off was basically a platter of miniature puff pastries with only 3 of them with any filling. They are all tiny pieces to boot. 1/2 cup of French fries was also on the plate with 3 small containers of sauces two of which resembled hot sauce. How can they charge $34 for this? I didn't even realize the cost until my family member showed me the receipt as we were walking to the car - that's when I decided to review because we felt very ripped off. I actually called the restaurant afterward because I thought there had been a mistake on the $34 charge for the platter and the woman who I spoke to said she was a server and not in control of pricing and if I had a concern I would need to email top Burmese “support,” which I did and haven’t heard one word back. The woman said “they’re air fried!”Okay…Anyway, we’re feeding the remainder of the mini empty all carb puff pastry platter to the birds. I’ve ordered samosa platters at other restaurants for $9-$11 and actually received delightful, substantial and delicious starters. They should be ashamed serving this and charging such an outlandish price. Probably the biggest rip off I’ve ever experienced in my long history of restaurant dining all over the planet. For my entree, I ordered a curry chicken noodle which had absolutely no chicken in it. My family member had an eggplant dish with coconut rice, she usually loves anything with eggplant and she said it was 'tasteless and bland.' The only thing that was decent this time was the tea leaf salad, although that tasted bitter and I would not recommend it. Another disappointment was getting their dessert cake to go, they did not include the whip cream and the serving size was literally half what I received on my last visit. A very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. This restaurant lacks quality control and over-charges. I am thoroughly disappointed. See my itemized receipt below.
