My boyfriend and I came here for my birthday for the first time and it was such a delicious, enjoyable experience. I’m thinking of going back for their Father’s Day bbq next weekend. We both had steaks- the tenderloin with truffle blue cheese butter melted in my mouth. We also had the marbled potatoes, cipollini onions, harissa butter, au poivre jus, cornbread, bone marrow, oysters and Mac n cheese. ALL were delicious! Some of the best food I’ve ever had. We happily had plenty of leftovers to take home and everything was just as amazing the next day!
Manager Allix was so so accommodating and professional, as was all staff. Drinks were unique and tasty!
Overall a fantastic time and I can’t wait to go back!
The waiters were so sweet, along with the hostess. The mains were amazing, and I loved the sides!!
Genuinely the most delicious food I have ever tasted. The New York steak tasting was incredible, highly recommend upgrading to include the Wagyu. A warning though- the taste of their Wagyu will remain on your mind for weeks. Hoping the steak tasting returns to the menu soon.
The server was great… that was not the issue. The issue was coming at the end of breakfast, we were forced to order off the lunch and specials menu even though other patrons seated around us were ordering breakfast. The full sirloin Benedict is $24 on the breakfast menu but the *half* bene is $25 on the special menu, so you get 1/2 the meal for $1 more while others were able to get full breakfast meal at the same time. Not cool on principle. Also beware 4% surcharge and 1% “clean energy” surcharge. Decor and food presentation was nice, and Erik was a great and accommodating server.
The food was really good the drinks A1🔥 first time there loved it.
May 2025: This location was closed.
The food was decent for what it was. Had the cheese plate, half bene and the classic breakfast eggs ham & bacon and an English muffin. Waiter was nice and friendly but service was extremely slow seemed like there was a lot of servers standing around but we actually had to go ask the hostess for our waiter so we could order our drinks. They seemed unorganized a different person handled each item. Overall we would give it a hard-pass, not worth the price paid.
Beautiful atmosphere but overpriced and disappointing portions.
The restaurant itself is beautiful — it’s in downtown Portland with a lovely, clean atmosphere. The service was friendly, and the place is definitely Instagram-worthy with its decor.
However, I was really disappointed by the pricing and portion sizes. I ordered a salad, and the server asked if I wanted to add anything. I said, “just a little bit of salmon.” In the end, my salad cost $50 — for a small portion that didn’t even fill me up. That was shocking for such a basic meal.
The drinks were just okay. When we asked the bartender to make a specific cocktail, they didn’t know how. It felt like a bar that looks nice but isn’t fully trained for more detailed drink requests.
If you do visit, definitely double-check the menu prices and clarify any add-ons before ordering.
The experience was fantastic and the cinnamon corn bread is to die for!
The benedict egg in breakfast is perfect. However, they do charge a 4% surcharge and 1% eco friendly fee or whatever.

A must visit spot for the perfect downtown Portland experience! My best friend, her husband and I went to Urban Farmer for what we planned to be a quick happy hour cocktail last weekend, but after enjoying the *most perfect* martinis, we all decided that we needed to stay for dinner.
We shared several plates, and were blown away by each. The addition to apple on the oysters was a crowd pleaser that hit it out the park. I think the wedge salad was my favorite wedge I've had--the green goddess dressing was lighter than the typical slathering of bleu cheese dressing (usually off-putting to me), and complimented the other toppings well, making it balanced and refreshing. Our steak was cooked to absolute perfection and well seasoned. The mac & cheese was exactly what you hope for--extremely creamy and flavorful, with that perfect crunch on top. We could not pick a favorite dessert, between the warm chocolate chip cookie, salted caramel-drizzled lava cake, or mango sorbet.
We were blown away by the attentiveness in service, and especially by the whole-team approach they seem to have. We sat at the bar top with our charismatic and talented bartender, but our plates were cleared immediately by two different staff members, and we had several table touches by the warm and welcoming manager on duty. It felt like the entire staff was focused on ensuring that we had a top-notch experience.
On top of a great drinking and dining experience, the hotel itself is beautiful, and Departure bar upstairs is a must-go spot for a night cap with one of the best views in/of Portland.
Urban Farmer would certainly make for a romantic date night, but was a fantastic experience for our casual catch up. Highly recommend!
Try to dine at the bar. In the middle of dinner our dish racks All Over the Bar making most of it unseatable. Stephan the manager seemed put out that I did not want to eat in the dining room.
The service was absolutely top notch. The dry aged bone in NY strip is probably the best steak I've ever had. Absolutely phenomenal experience. Highly recommend.
Really incredible time with great friends. Great service! Great atmosphere? The food was amazing. Highly recommend.
We had a very good breakfast this morning before we urban hiked Portland, and came back to The Nines before dinner. We had one of the best cheese tray ever when we first came here 10+ years ago, so we always get that at some point during our stay.
Today’s cheese plate underwhelmed. I always kind of expect a three cheese plate to have a hard, a soft, and a “stinky”. Today, we got three hard cheeses, that while good, were frankly variations of the same. Not enough accoutrements was solved by asking for more honey and crackers, but you can’t really fix the root problem, which was the “chef’s selection” of cheeses.
