I'm so glad I found this little hidden gem! It's somewhat tucked away in the St John's industrial area, but yet less than a minute walk away from Cathedral Park! (and also walking distance to downtown St John's) The restaurant is on the second floor of a warehouse building that's been remodeled and quite cozy inside. My favorite though was the amazing outdoor dog friendly patio! The views on this patio blew me away and my pup and I got to witness one of the most gorgeous sunsets while we were there

...oh yeah, and their pretzel & cheese was hands down the best I've found in Portland so far!

Gabrielle was amazing, it was our first time there and we had a big platter of delicious food. We will be back for sure!

Tucked away in North Portland, this is the premier German establishment serving perfectly cooked classics paired with the German beer staples. In winter, warm yourself with the delicious offerings, and in summer enjoy a pint on the balcony with a view.

Simply one of St Johns best kept secrets, come see what this hidden gem has to offer. When you're done, you can stop by Occidental brewing right next door.

Unable to do my requested substitution, but still charged me a substitution fee. Dishonest order taker.

A booming German sausage fest on 2nd floor overlooking the grand...parking lot of a brewery, with a sneak peek view of the bridge. The view, really, is looking down at your car..

The outdoor seating is great ambiance to enjoy brats and brew. The selection of brew is immense and amazing, the flavors are great (subject to personal taste of course), and brats are good flavors too.

The service can be a bit pause-y depending on how many patrons but nonetheless very busty and attentive.

Nonetheless the cost to partake these German sausages will set you back quite a bit. A bit more than expected in ratio to quantity and flavor expected. Probably a solid 20-25% more than expected. Your better bet is just come for brew.

In summary, still a worthy little yet authentic feel of a German House of Sausage to check out, dine, and experience. If the owner would lower the brat costs, no doubt there will be a bee line out the door all day long.

Enjoy!

I would give this place a solid three. They had some bangers.

The pork roast was delicious and flavorful, and it was solid. I highly recommend this dish.

The spaetzle was okay; it needed more salt. I still enjoyed it.

The sauerkraut was not flavorful.

The schnitzel was good enough.

The kolsch was okay, in my partner’s opinion.

The atmosphere was nice, the view was gorgeous, and it was extremely cozy while we were there.

We would go back!

Got take out. Food was fantastic. Schnitzel was beautifully evenly cooked, the potato salad perfectly seasoned. Spaetzel was consistently sized and well cooked. Very authentic tasting German cuisine.

This was so bad I can't even describe it. I asked for Frites and got their nasty German potato salad. The brats tasted NOTHING like i remember from Germany. The Sauerkraut, however, was exactly as i remember it, disgusting!

This is a really cool place. I felt like I was stepping into a bar in Munich. Fantastic beer! Great food and the service was perfect. Chill little place if you're ever in the St. John's area. I'm sure Oktoberfest would be a lot of fun here. Thanks!
