They have zero understanding of the word vegan and advertise they are completely vegan but confirmed use eggs. Their mayo is egg based. Really unfortunate as I’ve eaten here multiple times with my husband. To get food here it is a huge hassle as well. Not worth it even though it is very cheap. Before I explain, note that the mayo is NOT vegan! I walked up to the cart being closed up, despite online saying they were open. I decided to just stay and study the menu, and eventually, a woman came over and said only #1 or #4. I said 4 and asked if it was vegan. She said yes, vegan, yes yes. I said okay. I then asked again, if she was sure? Again, yes, yes, vegan. Then, a chef came over, and I stopped them and asked that it is indeed vegan. They said yes. Then a guy came over to ask me a question, and I told him I just wanted to make sure it's vegan. He says yes, everything vegan. I said okay because I was mainly concerned about the mayo. He then says oh the mayo is egg. I said what? I said vegan and was told it's vegan. He says no, it has egg, so I don't want egg? I said no, vegan. No egg. He then told the chef no mayo. Wow! So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they sealed the egg rolls with actual egg as well. I've encountered this exact scenario elsewhere too with saying it's fine cuz it's just egg. *face palm. Despite the giant banner outside that says vegan and everyone there saying it's vegan, just make sure you cover all your bases of possible animal products and tell them none of it. Eggs, butter, whatever else! Now, on to the actual food. For $6, it is what it is, but it was pretty sad, to be honest. Mainly bread, there was no joke, 3 pieces of carrot shreds. Three. You could actually count them out. Everything about it was pretty bland. I will definitely be skipping this place.
Beautiful Buddhist temple. Inexpensive. Super friendly. Super tasty vegan food. 🙏💚
This place is an ABSOLUTE TREASURE!! The banh mi is some of the tastiest I’ve ever had at the best price I’ve ever seen. Phuoc, the nun who runs the cart, speaks very little english but is the sweetest person in the world. She takes her time making each dish one by one and while you’re waiting you can sit or walk around the beautiful temple that the cart is connected to. Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend making this spot a regular visit!!

Wow, 5$ Banh Mi. That’s such an incredible bargain. It was super yummy, too. The carrots and daikon were sweetly pickled and the fresh coriander and jalapeños added a nice touch. Was reminiscent of Vietnam big time. But several and eat later. :)
There are many vegetarian dishes to choose from. Cheap price. We bought Bread and 2 glasses of Sugarcane juice. The bread is very delicious. Sugarcane juice of course tastes a little different than in Vietnam, as not fresh cane is available here. It's sunny for a reason that sugarcane juice is best for me. The only thing was that the wait was a bit long, even though there were very few people when we went to buy.

Without a doubt, this is the best (and most affordable) Vietnamese food truck in Portland! I’ve never seen bahn mi sandwiches this cheap anywhere else and they are SO delicious. Something to keep in mind though: if you’re here during business hours and they look closed, chances are they’re actually open but just inside. All you have to do is call the number and they’ll come outside. Also, you might want to bring cash because when I was there the other day, the woman seemed to be without her regular help so she didn’t know how to use the credit card scanner.
I ordered the #4 banh mi without cilantro, which includes Vietnamese ham, pickled carrots, cucumber, and pepper. It's more bread than fillings, but still a great deal for $5.
Rip to the best vegan baguette in Portland, when will you come back?!
4$ sandwiches are a steal !!
The best vegetarian Bahn Mi I've ever found in the Pacific Northwest. I always used to get a few grilled tofu sandwiches and the shrimp spring rolls. I really hope they're able to reopen!
