Great Irish Pub located in southeast Portland. Friendly staff, great Guinness pour and more important they can pour a proper half n' half (Black n' Tan). Everything I have gotten from the menu has been very tasty. Some times it can be crowded, just wait it out and you'll get a seat if needed.

Whelan's Irish Pub is a cozy neighborhood pub offering good bar food, including excellent mac and cheese and the best Shepards pie. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere make it a welcoming spot. With a variety of menu options, like the off-the-chain rueban and burger, and a magician in the kitchen, Whelan's is a great place to visit. The pub features a bar area with plenty of room, great Guinness pours, and even a resident cat. They do karaoke and have pool and video poker, with a good crowd but not too busy. Parking is available in a small lot or on the street. Highly recommended for an authentic Irish pub experience.
