Stayed at the Canopy hotel and received dining credit so I had breakfast and dinner at Vaux. The challah French toast sounded promising but was underwhelming. It was probably the thinnest French toast I've ever had, though the flavor was pretty good. The pecan butter was disappointing. It was almost chalky.
The happy hour pizza was a good deal. The pizza of the day was white sauce with bacon and spinach. Crust was not too thick and nice and crispy. It may have been floured too much though.
With all the other dining options available in PDX, I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come here, but it's worth checking out if you're already at the hotel.
Caesar salad was so good. Great service and atmosphere.

Soup was dangerously hot, a sure sign it was microwaved. It was blended to a thin slime and had no flavor. No noticeable cheese, no chunks of vegetables, a sign that it was frozen. I added salt but nothing could save this cat food. It’s like everything here is from kits. Pizza oven is not hot enough. They can accommodate customization of a dish but the pizza dough is premade or frozen. No soul here. Vaux is only for the most desperate of exhausted travelers wishing for enough calories to remain alive.
Update: I finally sat long enough for my soup to cool and I added salt. It still tasted like microwaved water. (No, I’m not sick.) I took it to the counter to ask if maybe it was prepared incorrectly. They offered to replace it with anything on the menu. The next thing I got was properly salted but still obviously microwaved. I’ve bumped my service rating up but still do not recommend the food. It’s a lovely place for a drink, but don’t come hungry.

Went in the other night, normally I don't do reviews but Curtis took care of me and my wife and went above and beyond to make sure we were good. So glad there are people like that whom still exist. A+++

Great lounge and bar area. Here with a group and service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend! I did not have any food, but many of my friends said the food was good.
Parking: Street parking is generally within a block or two. A few blocks more and you will find a paid parking lot.
Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible door, a number of options for a wheel chair to be.

Staff seems to treat certain guest better than others, needs better management, food is decent, weird they make everything in a pizza oven… don’t expect to get real food either, almost no one follows the FSA food safety laws…. Bartender Chuck has been known to have an attitude and is quick to be temperamental. Hope this review helps and reaches the right people

Way more than a hotel bar! The food and drinks here are fantastic. Lead bartender, Chuck Ward, has mastered the craft of the Old Fashioned. Easily one of the best I’ve had. Meanwhile Sous Chef Zack has brought in his own family sausage recipe that elevates an already hearty breakfast menu. There’s plenty of space for events or just relaxing with friends. High quality establishment here, there just happens to be a hotel (a very modern, comfortable hotel with incredible staff) attached.

Went here for some dinner tonight and ordered the wings, which were delicious! They toss it in a peach buffalo sauce that made my mouth water. Not to mention the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful. A great way to end a Monday!

One of the worst meals - not just once, but twice. Caesar salad had a gallon of dressing- literally a gallon. Remade and 2nd try not any better. Pizza was burned beyond recognition- waiter said “sorry the pizza is really burned”. No offer to remake it- just sorry it’s burned. Service is really awkward and frankly, bad. Great hotel, they just need to figure out their restaurant situation.

Ordered pasta with steak. No flavor on steak nor pasta. Too expensive for a meal that wasn’t enjoyable. I do want to mention I ordered at 8:30pm when kitchen closes at 9pm. Not sure if that has an influence.Breakfast is really really good tho’.I’m just very frustrated by dinner. I feel horrible knowing I wasted money here when PDX has so many other good restaurants.

Vaux is my happy hour spot downtown, the cocktails are so yummy and the server Igor is such a day maker!!! He is a big reason why I’ve been coming in regularly. Getting 5star service in Portland is a big deal!!!I am vegan so I don’t eat here, that’s why I didn’t give many stars to the food section.
