I’ve received exceptional care at this clinic for 6 years through two pregnancies, and the midwifery team has helped me deliver two beautiful children through complicated labors. My primary midwife, Liz Labby, has been a grounding, patient, and thoughtful provider for me. I so deeply appreciate her clear communication and vast knowledge about women’s health, pregnancy, birth, and the process of becoming a parent.
I’ve also received top notch care without exception from Paige Atkinson, Nikki Morris, Kailia Wray, Megan Sapp, Maryanne Garvie Loveland, and Lauren MacKenzie. I highly recommend this clinic!
I very much appreciate being able to reach a nurse if I have a gyno issue, and that they do not let much time pass before getting back to you. And, I get a sense that the nurses and my doctor actually care about my well being. That's huge in this world of healthcare.
Very nice staff.
After being in the ER for extreme pain from a very large cyst they could care less to call back when I need to see an obgyn asap. I went somewhere that got me in next day. I'm pretty patient but that was not OK.
Eta: the other place got me in and scheduled surgery asap. It had to happen and I actually got my surgery today (less than 2 weeks after my ER visit) I would never go to a place that doesn't care about women's health so if you're having an emergency DO NOT GO HERE!
From the time you're greeted upon arrival, the entire staff makes sure to meet your needs with such care. They listen to you and when your appointment is completed you leave knowing that you will return with confidence.
Friendly staff, good location!
Can't say that I love WHA. I've always been put with a different doctor, which was okay but it means I wasn't able to get to know my doctor well.
I just had the Mirena IUD placed at this location. Doctor was super nice and showed me all the tools and how they worked. She even let me keep my iud (kyleena). However, have been unable to walk properly since the placement, as the strings are poking me with every movement. It's painful and frustrating that this has happened. I can tell the people here are nice, but I think most aren't meant for this field.
It's unfortunate because I will now have to go out of network for OBGYN care.
I made my appointment over a month ago but it wasn’t until after I arrived that I was told the doctor I had scheduled with was no longer taking new patients. The receptionist told me they called me twice to let me know. I pulled up my phone and showed her no missed calls or voicemails from the clinic. (I also have my voicemails transcribed to text because of my job, and there were no transcribed voicemails from the clinic.)The woman I was checking in with was apologetic, but the second receptionist interrupted by laughing. I looked over at her as she explained with a huge smile that this is a KNOWN issue. She said that they often leave messages with their patients, but their messages don’t go through. It was shocking how little she cared when I shared that I took a day off work for the appointment. She smirked as she shrugged it off. This was my first experience with this office and if her customer service is any indication of the level of medical care provided at that clinic, I’m better off with the appointment being canceled.
I had my first baby here and it was exactly the kind of care I needed and wanted. I was so thankful to have a much more hands off approach and no pressure to have extra and unnecessary medical interventions and medications. Everything worked out perfectly and the ladies working after I gave birth were very helpful and kind.
I saw several different nurse midwifes and OB's during my first pregnancy and was pleased with the care and experience offered by all.

This review pertains specifically to the care received by Shirley Ma. My daughter went in to have an IUD put in. Shirley's energy was great from the start. She was warm and very communicative. She answered any questions and thoroughly explained everything happening during the procedure. She was encouraging to my daughter and talked her through each step. We are both so grateful for such a positive experience and relieved to receive such excellent care. Thank you!
If you are pregnant, please think twice before trusting WHA with your prenatal care.Starting early in the second trimester (pregnant with twins) I began feeling extreme pelvic compression along with many other symptoms that were dismissed repeatedly by my OB at the time, Dr. Maggie Hayes. Irritated with the constant dismissal, around 24 weeks I began the process of switching my care to the Oregon Clinic. At 25 weeks on a Saturday I slept around 16 hours and woke up with a dull backache - I called the after hours line concerned about how I was feeling and was told it was “probably nothing call back if it gets worse”by the nurse on the advice line. LaterSunday morning around 4:00 am I woke up with excruciating back pain that wrapped around my abdomen. I called the after hours line and this time spoke with Dr. Hayes. Her tone sounded very inconvenienced as we spoke. As a first time mom I did not realize what I was feeling were obviously contractions not was I ever informed that carrying twins put me at higher risk for preterm labor. Dr. Hayes instructed me to “take a Tylenol and a hot shower”. At one point I told her I was scared and when I asked if this could be preterm labor she said quote “let’s not go there”. At the end of the conversation she said I could go to labor and delivery if I wanted to for “peace of mind”. When I asked her if it was preterm labor if there was anything they could do to stop it she said “not really”. I didn’t listen to her. I followed my instinct and thank god decided to go in.When I arrived at L&D (an hour away from my home), I was already dilating and my contractions were 1-3 minutes apart. Both my babies and I had concerning high heart rates and as the doctors within minutes began administering steroid shots, a magnesium drip, and drugs to hopefully stop my labor. They began preparing me for talks with NICU staff about what would have been an unspeakably awful journey if they had even survived birth. Thankfully the drugs the doctors administered, the life-saving treatments Dr. Hayes made me believe did not exist stopped the labor. If I had listened to Dr. Hayes I truly believe I would have buried my sweet babies or they would have suffered with life-altering disabilities as a result of their prematurity. After switching to the Oregon Clinic for my prenatal care, I followed up with the WHA clinic manager who said the issue had been “elevated”. She followed up with me a few times but I truly believe nothing has been done to prevent other women from experiencing similar negligence. This review is not an attempt to drag a doctor or clinic, it is intended to protect other mothers from receiving the same negligent prenatal care I did.
I really like the midwives I've met with here but it's IMPOSSIBLE to call the office. I was on hold for 2 hours when all I needed was to set up a lab appointment (which can't be done online) I'm still waiting for a referral to go through, I've sent messages through the portal (still unanswered) and I'm dreading calling and being put on an endless hold.
I had a tubal ligation here several years ago that resulted in severe pain and other health complications. The doctor and staff refused to acknowledge that there could be any possibility that there could have been surgical complications and I've been left to suffer the health effects for years. The doctor who performed the surgery kept trying to convince me that the symptoms that started after the surgery must have been things I had been experiencing all along. He also kept really bad surgical notes to the point of making it very difficult for providers at other locations to even understand what he had done during the surgery. I do not recommend this place.
Doctor ordered a bunch of labs that along with the visit totaled about $700. Didn’t inform me whatsoever. I’m paying $50/month as I just moved to Tennessee. I have under $200 left to go, with rising costs I can only afford $25/month so I call to change. The girl who I talked to said her supervisor would only approve going down to $40/month. I asked for the Supervisor’s name……pause…..Irene. Ask for the last name, she says “c”. Dearest Irene, if you exist, why won’t you give your last name? I give my last name out all the time. Why? BECAUSE I TREAT PEOPLE WITH COMPASSION and RESPECT. I don’t have to hide like Miss Irene. Like many folks, I am struggling to fill up my car right now. I’m absolutely certain that WHA is doing fine yet they won’t even work with me on this. I have every intention of paying, as I explained on the phone call. Unfortunately, the “care” I received for this expensive visit did not help me whatsoever. They needed to perform more labs, of course.
