OMG, this place was amazing. We went at lunchtime on Presidents Day, so I thought it was a little odd that the lunch specials were not available. That was okay, because the food was so fantastic. Wife had the basil chicken which was one of the best Chinese dishes ever. I had the Lamb with Green Onion, which was good, but I'd try something else next time. I rarely see Lamb on a Chinese menu, so I had to try it. We split some green the green tea. The service was fast and friendly, as were some patrons. A couple guys walked by and asked about the b=Basil Chicken, so we told them it was a must! Huge open space that is unexpected given the outside of the historic Louis Building, built in 1885. We are going back!!

Our table got a faulty tea pot so it kept spilling everytime someone tried to pour some tea. The staff didn't switch it, but they gave us many napkins. All the servers were attentive and quick to help with questions and requests. My table also ordered shrimp fried rice, lamb dumplings, pork belly with picked vegetables, and a cilantro cumin lamb dish. The food was hot and delicious. I ordered the crab soup dumplings and fish in chilli oil. The soup dumplings were very crabby and had a nice thin wrapper that didn't break. The fish in chilli oil was not too spicy with a nice tingly mala flavor. Definitely need rice to eat with though.Parking: Paid limited street parking. Go down a block and pay to park on the parking lot instead.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp entrance with rails on both sides. Plenty of space to move about with my cane.

My partner found this restaurant a few weeks ago in our planning for our trip to Portland. We were both super excited to try it, since we can't get good dim sum where we live. We stopped in for dinner during a busy rush and were seated right away, but I think we got overlooked and ended up sitting for almost 30 minutes without being served. As we were getting up to leave, the main waiter came over, apologized, and offered to make things right. Our food came out quickly and was fantastic. They went above and beyond to make the situation right. We would definitely come back when we're in town again!

What a Portland experience. Two of us were walking when we found Xin Ding and chose it from other restaurants on the block. It was about 6:00 pm and we had less than a five (5) minute wait for a table. Mindy was our server. Our meal started with Egg Flower Soup which was the best we've ever had and our meal consisted of Orange Chicken (his favorite) and Seafood Fried Rice (my choice). We weren't disappointed. The food, service, and cost were all great! Although it got busy at around 7:00, our service was timely and helpful. Dumplings will be our next experience.

Awesome food. Great service. First time here. The dumplings were amazing. The sesame chicken had a great flavor and crunch.

Amazing lamb dumplings cannot be found elsewhere and beef dumplings stuffed with tender beef so delicious! All their Xiao Long Bao are all to die for! Finally the custard buns I cannot emphasize enough how incredibly addictive with a yolk like center with the taste of freshly baked bread that takes you straight to a doughy paradise that you'll never want to leave! The presentation alone with a golden streak proves their divine!

~ NOT GOOD FOR LATE NIGHT DRUNCHIES :( You know when you're hungry and just about everything you eat tastes like heaven? Oh and add alcohol into the mix, so you know we were craving hella munchies. Ughhhh, I really wanted to like this place. I don't know if it's because we ordered the wrong dishes, but this spot was a huge miss and didn't satisfy our late-night drunchies at all. We did like that this place is open late and we were hoping that this would be the spot for some late-night drunchies. Sadly, we will have to keep looking. ~ FLAVORLESS DISHES PORK XIAO LONG BAO: This was the best one out of the 3 dishes that we ordered. Eh, we've had better elsewhere. This didn't blow our minds. GREEN ONION PANCAKE: The serving size was huge for two people. Unfortunately, the flavors were lacking. Had to douse it with sauce to taste anything. BRAISED BEEF NOODLE SOUP: Was expecting this dish to be poppin' with so much flavor, but OMG, I've never had bland beef noodle soup like this before. ~ QUICK, ATTENTIVE SERVICE We did appreciate how quickly the food came out and how attentive the servers were.

Great spot with many options The restaurant itself inside is very well taken care of and nice to dine in. It's seems as though many regular this spot going straight to the bar and ordering everything immediately which I don't blame them. I ordered a small variety and enjoyed everything only comment is that the lychee lemon drop was probably the strongest drink I've ever ordered at any restaurant so great bang for your buck in my case Our server was super sweet and staff were constantly running around cleaning and tending to customers. I recommend stopping by if you're in Portland they stay open super late too!

Fast seating for a table of 4 at peak dinner time on a Sat night. They were busy, but not a long wait. Service was good, fast, great menu offerings. We shared the xiao long bao, chili wontons, regular chive dumplings, pan fried steamed buns, fried green beans and eggplant w/garlic. We wanted to try the cucumber starter, but they had sold out, and we weren't hungry enough to add a dried pot dish, though it looked good on others reviews. Great option if Din Tai Fung is busy, per my guests, the menu offerings are similar. I can't remember if it compares, I had DTF in Taiwan so long ago it's not a fair first person comparison. I loved it. Would definitely be back. Faves were the Veges, steamed buns, chili wontons!!

This place is amazing! I wasn't even looking for it and happened to stumble on it on my way back to the hotel. The fried dumplings will leave a lasting impression. I'd go to Portland just to have it again.
