This place has some of the best Vietnamese food. It also has the best service I've ever had in Portland. I've lived here my whole life and I've never had such great service as I had here. I would recommend on that alone.
So happy to have found this Vietnamese restaurant while we were craving for Asian food during our road trip. It’s a cute shop with mom being the chef and son being server I think? We both ordered the combo vermicelli bowl and it was so good and authentic! The shrimps were cooked to perfection with crispy garlic flakes. Generous portion with beautiful presentation too! Server was attentive, very sweet and kind. ^_^ Oh and they have free parking and outdoor seating too! Score 💯!!!

I came here many years ago and somehow forgot the name, but I always remembered the vibe. They were playing tasteful Frank Ocean music and the whole atmosphere just felt warm and welcoming. I recently spent some extended time in Portland and happened to be running an errand nearby, so I decided to come back, and I’m so glad I did.
The gentleman working the front was genuinely kind and helpful from the moment I walked in. Even though it’s counter service, he told me to take a seat, brought me water and napkins, and handed me a menu. That level of hospitality really stood out.
I also got the shrimp salad rolls, which are always a go to for me. The vegetables were super crisp and fresh, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Not rubbery or fishy tasting at all, which can definitely happen at some places.
I originally ordered the vegan pho because I wanted something lighter with lots of vegetables. I’m not vegan or vegetarian. Beef pho is actually one of my favorite foods and I’ve found vegan broths can sometimes lack depth which is a trade off for a lighter soup with more veggies vs a flavorful meat soup. He suggested the vegetarian Huế pho instead, explaining that it had a richer, spicier broth and thicker round noodles versus the flat rice noodles. It was phenomenal.
The broth was deeply flavorful and aromatic with the perfect level of spice, and it was absolutely packed with vegetables. He asked what spice level I wanted out of 10. I chose a 5, but honestly could’ve handled a 7 or 8. I added some sriracha to supplement.
I told him my pholosophy is that every bite of pho should have a jalapeño in it, and he absolutely delivered. He loaded me up with jalapeños and limes exactly as requested. He also checked back in while I was eating, and when I mentioned how much I loved the vegetables, he immediately offered me more.
Really exceptional service, especially for a counter-service restaurant. The restaurant was also very clean, which I always appreciate. You can tell they genuinely care about the customer experience here. I’ll absolutely be back!

Probably the best tofu banh mi I’ve ever had, especially for the price. Super flavorful and spicy enough, as an Indian with relatively high spice tolerance. Service was very good too, cashier was super friendly.

This one of my favorite restaurants when it comes to pho and it’s definitely the best bahn mi I have found in the city.
Stopped in for something sweet. Got a vegan blueberry blended drink with jelly. It was good but it was an artificial flavored drink. The service was fast and friendly.

If you're in the area and need to grab a bite to eat, I highly recommend skipping the food carts and going to XinhXinh instead, the food is fabulous and the prices are good. I got the pulled pork banh mi and it was delicious, super flavorful with great bread and plenty of fresh cilantro. Service was kind and the food came fast. The whole restaurant smells amazing too.
