I got the Khao Soi and “Amazing” eggplant. Both were incredible! The “amazing” eggplant was awesome. For some reason its really hard to find Khao Soi in Portland, Zaap delivered!
The first time I went to Portland and enjoyed the food here, everything is true perfect

Probably the best Thai food we’ve had in Portland, and we’ve been here for over 10 years.
Great vegan options w soy protein subs, which is always an appreciated alternative to just tofu. The tofu skewers were fantastic.
We’ll be back again, and again. It would be be nice if there were vegan soup options, especially in the rainy season.
Edit:
Back for our third visit in 3 weeks. Had the evil jungle w soy beef; wife had the orange soy chicken. Both were amazing.

We tried ordering using the QR code, but it was really meant for takeout. A note instructed to include the table number for dining in, but the table didn't have a number, so we were confused. Even the server didn't know how it worked, so we just told him our order. The four deep-fried Thai egg rolls contained cabbage and carrot and were served with sweet and sour sauce. I ordered Pad Thai with tofu instead of egg, but they also included vegan egg. The mango sticky rice was served warm and topped with coconut cream. I enjoyed everything.
It was incredibly hot and I just wanted out of the heat and some food. I wandered in here and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor, powerful air conditioning and delicious food. Would definitely come again!

Far better than standard thai fare, the staff was knowledgable and helpful making items vegan. Note that many items listed as "vegan" still include egg so make sure you ask for them vegan even where marked.
Restaurantji Recommends
Nearly everything can be made vegan with 4 different vegan meat options; tofu, tempeh, vegan beef and vegan chicken. The portions are massive so beware you will need to share them. I would recommend the Thai fried rice with tofu. It was so wok Smokey and addictive and comforting. Pad Thai was yummy but can’t have too much because of the oil with my sensitive stomach. The yellow curry was also very tasty.
Great value and quality — highly recommended!

One of a handfull of Thai restaurants in Portland, Zaap is a great choice to eat. We ordered the pad tai, chicken penang, and khao pad. Be sure to include a Thai tea to complete the array of flavors.
