We just wanted to get a pastry to go. We came around 11:00. They are very small. We had to wait to get in the door. Then the workers were so busy we had to wait a very long time to get helped. The cruller, cinnamon roll and raspberry streusel were all very good.

The name says it all, Grumpy's. Thats the first impression I got while I stood waiting to be served...waiting to be even acknowledged, waiting for an absolution which never happened. They may have been a bit busy but not THAT busy. As I stood in the doorway waiting to at least be greeted with a simple "we will be right with you" or a "Thank you for waiting" I began contemplating the importance of customer service, this place does NOT have that!I can't remember a time I have been completely ignored by an establishment. I imagine that due to how few restaurants there are in the area they feel like they can treat people like 2nd class citizens. I ended up walking out with my head hung low, tears welling up in my eyes without ever been greeted! I was hungry and thought I might pass out and die outside. A truly horrible embarrassing experience that I will never forget and makes me question the future of customer service in the world.

Welp, should have read the 1 star reviews. Showed up at 10:30, ordered food at 10:45 and did not see it until 12:15. The service was incredibly slow, no one in the restaurant was eating. We saw plates come out about every 20 minutes. With a quick sorry for the wait. Everyone was disgruntled. Our hashbrowns were cold but other parts of the food were warm. Will not be returning. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME!!!

Nicole did a great job especially when we ordered a milkshake and she had her coworker make it, talk about Grumpy! Pancakes the size of 2 dinner plates and a bakery selection that’s impressive. A nice place to stop when traveling down the coast!

Older lady waitress really couldn’t handle our large headcount table. We were split into two booths (not a big deal) and we got drinks from the male busser. The waitress didn’t come take our order for like 20 minutes. Then 3 of our orders were wrong/didn’t even come out to the table. Had to persist multiple times just to get the orders right. Waters and coffees weren’t filled a single time without us asking. Which she then filled one water one time. Entered happy, left Grumpy. Authentic experience.

Gave them a second chance today. Here's the result: Was given wrong order, aujus and fries were cold, took forever to get our orders, they warmed the aujus and I had to suck it up over the wrong order and cold fries. I was told the "owner" was cooking. News alert: Owner needs to stay out of the kitchen! I feel ripped off. I am a local and I am ashamed of the lack of professionalism this business shows. No more chances! Done.

My waiter said he just couldn't do grumpy today. What a wonderful place with good food and kind patrons. My two silver dollar pancakes, over easy egg and bacon were all done perfectly and tasted great. Even bummed a biscuit with gravy off my table companion - wonderful again.He was nice enough to warn me that the #1 breakfast with two pancakes is HUGE. I am really looking forward to my cinnamon roll tomorrow. **Update: the cinnamon roll was big enough to share with four people. I heated it up in the microwave for a minute and a half...mouthwatering goodness.
