We had a quick lunch: vegan wrap filled with vegetable biriyani. So delicious and warm on a cold day. With great strawberry lemonade. This was the best Indian food we’ve had in a very long time, including meals in Vancouver and Portland. Going back tomorrow.

Three people working and not a single person acknowledged customers waiting at the window. After standing around for a little while, someone had to grab their attention by yelling loud enough for one of them to hear. My wait time after placing my order was 20 minutes, but, ended up waiting longer than that—which I thought was ridiculous for an order of chicken biryani (they had lots of to-go orders on their end).
Their chicken biryani was bit too bland for my liking, I enjoy eating Indian food and I’m familiar with the cuisine. Spice level was medium—but, it had a kick to it. The container they use were incredibly thin, and definitely isn’t microwave safe.
Overall experience wasn’t the greatest for me. Lots of good reviews—maybe, I came on the wrong night. I’ll stick to Indian restaurants I am familiar with.
Update: 09/27/2025 (3 days later)
I came back to try this place again, and I still didn’t like it. Service was still horrible. I ordered a lamb biryani wrap and got a rice bowl. I’m never coming back here again.

Taste of India is a food truck in a lot with ample parking space. We ordered samosas, malai kofta and aloo kulcha. They took a while to prepare the food but it was worth it. The food tasted fresh and the malai kofta gravy tasted authentic. The samosas were tasty and huge in size. They tasted amazing with the green chutney. Absolutely recommended for anyone looking for some good Indian food in the area
This was some of the best Indian food I’ve had in my life. Everything was SO flavorful! So many awesome vegetarian options, the portions sizes were hearty, and the folks running the cart were friendly. We will definitely be back on our next Rockaway beach visit!!

I showed up a few minutes after closing time after a long drive, and the staff were kind enough to take my order anyway even though they were already cleaning up. Not only did they make me feel welcome, but they also gave me extra rice with my meal. The food was delicious and the service was above and beyond — I really appreciated their generosity and hospitality. Highly recommend!

Dude. This place is so delicious. I highly recommend. We got three of their vegetarian dishes, garlic naan bread and mango lassis. I think we got the aloo mutter, malai kofta and something (starts with ‘s’) paneer. We got medium heat…just enough to tingle the lips and add heat but not debilitating. A scrumtrulecent meal that I will dream of and recommend to everyone. You will never regret eating here.
