Delicious Japanese food. Very authentic. Love this place

I was born and raised in Japan. My mother is Japanese and difficult to please. The food at BonJapan Yaroku is authentic, carefully prepared, and delicious. I have tried more than half of their dishes and all were excellent. Keep in mind this is a food truck managed by one person. Therefore, it takes time to prepare the meals since he does not cut corners and certainly doesn’t rely on microwaves or frozen items like some Japanese eateries may use. The Katsudon, Oyakodon, saba shiyo yaki, Japanese curry dishes, udon bowls, cutlets, panko based dishes and gyoza were all high quality. The care used in preparing the correct white steamed rice is another sign of authentic Japanese food. Plus the side dishes like takuan and oshinko were delicious. My mom was impressed. We highly recommend BonJapan Yaroku. You can also practice your Japanese conversation skills with the owner. Try this place out.

Having been in Japan and have tried food from various shops I can say that the katsu curry カツカレー is very authentic and brought back memories of my trip to Japan.

This place is absolutely phenomenal!! The most exceptional Japanese cuisine me and my family have ever had. Along with the most gracious and nicest gentleman that runs it solo. We are so grateful to have found our favorite meals here for dinner. We like to call 30 to 45mins ahead of time for pickup so it's ready to go once we arrive to take home. I can't say enough top notch things about such a perfect experience every time. Beyond Incredible:)!

Great place, great food, and wonderful service! Unfortunately, this gem is now hidden behind a taco truck. Please give this place a try, authentic Japanese food best in Salem. I highly recommend the curry and the shrimp fry!
It had good reviews so I went there even though it was a little far away. I had the fox udon and mini curry? Both were delicious, but especially the udon, which also came with shichimi and bonito flakes, was simple but very delicious?

This is probably my very favorite "restaurant" ever. I was a regular at his old location in 12th, and was heartbroken when it closed. The owner is absolutely delightful, and extremely kind.
I didn't realize the food truck had opened until recently, and immediately placed an order for pick up. Everything was just as delicious as I remembered. My favorites have always been his udon, curry, and gyoza. I've ordered from him three times since I realized he was back, have gotten all three of my favorites, and will be a regular at this location as well!

Some of the best Japanese food in the state of Oregon, if not the entire PNW. Single person operation, so if you come during a rush, bring your patience and kindness with your appetite. Seriously, don’t sleep on this place. It’s awesome! ご馳走様でした！
