Walking through Salem and found this restaurant and decided to try it. Very friendly staff. Waitress was wonderful! Attentive and stopped by our table regularly. Food was usual tavern type food. But good. We had pretzels, bruschetta, chicken fingers, and pasta Alfredo. Good. Not great. Prices were mid-range….probably just a bit high for the food quality. But overall a good experience.

Not too crowded, great service, tasty food. Try the lobster Benedict. Centrally located on main drag.

We used Door Dash to pick up food here on October 6th and I had made a mistake so I called directly. They were very helpful and they also mentioned the kitchen was backed up 30 minutes on top of the 30 minutes advertised on Door dash. Which is fine, I get it, it’s a weekend in October. We went in and made it known that we were there after the first 30mins and the server said to wait that she would bring us our order once it’s ready. The restaurant wasn’t even full. After the extra 30mins it still wasn’t ready. She had said it wouldn’t be long as it was almost ready. 15mins later the server looked at us and said “oh you guys are still waiting” and then gave us our food. It was cold. I’m sorry but 1:15 to make 2 paninis and a hotdog (that end up being cold) is not normal when your restaurant isn’t full.

The food here is not great. Flavourless and bland. Restrooms were horrible also. Save your money and try elsewhere.

Don't go in October! Automatically add 20% tip and not advertisd! Food was ok. Nothing special! Server was rude! Bathroom was nasty!

This is a great place if you want to be ignored, given a crappy attitude, and charged an automatic 20% gratuity...during Oct because "it's policy" since people have walked out. I think the people walk out since the server hasn't checked on them at any point during their meal. I went with a friend, and we were on mobility scooters, since we're both disabled. The one to seat us didn't know what to do really. I mentioned that the scooters fold up, so they don't take up as much space as expected. We were seated and given menus. Our server didn't come to at least do a drink order, for about 5 min. She didn't even properly greet us or tell us her name, we got a "what did you want?" When our food came, it was handed to us with "here", and she left. Didn't check on us to see if we needed anything else, or if the food was good... nothing. The food was ok, nothing fantastic, considering the price. The sodas were $4 each, but at least you were allowed to have refills. But I suppose if we actually did want one, you'd have to either tackle the server or get it yourself, or not at all. We got the bill, and my friend noticed it had a 20% tip automatically added. I decided to ask the server what that was all about, once she was actually visible after a while. She said it's automatic during Oct because of people walking out. That wouldn't happen if they were paying attention to their tables. One thing I forgot, a group of 4 people came in and she went to get drink orders after they were seated for just about 1-2 min. That was so kind of her, wasn't it?

We chose this place because it wasn't seafood and I a member of our party has an allergy. We ordered the bruschetta, a Caesar salad with turkey, and a Caesar chicken wrap. The wrap was tasty, although the fries were overdone and greasy. The problems came from everything else. The bruschetta had maybe a tablespoon of pink tomatoes. The dish was mostly bruschetta-flavored mozzarella cheese bits. It was good, but it wasn't bruschetta. The Caesar salad was bad. The turkey with just slices of deli turkey, with blood vessels, cartilage, and fascia marbled throughout. We were able to pick those parts out. But, then the dressing was thin and tasteless. We asked the waitstaff for more dressing and a completely different texture of dressing was delivered, prepackaged in a to-go cup. The person tried to eat the salad with the picked-apart meat and the new dressing, but one bite of crouton was the last straw. The croutons were rancid. The waitstaff seemed apologetic and offered to bring something else from the menu instead. We tried the pretzels, as they looked good at a neighboring table. Being from Philadelphia, the pretzels were unacceptable. They were obviously from frozen (think Superpretzel) and the accompanying cheese was cheez wiz with green pepper chunks. Pretzels should be served with beer cheese and seeded mustard, but they should also be handmade. We asked for the check. Not only were we charged for the bad salad, but we were also charged for the pretzels and a mandatory gratuity. I have never had a mandatory gratuity for a party of two. Oh, and there were bees circling throughout the meal. We asked the waitstaff for an apple slice or something similar to lure the bees away from the dining area. I was ignored. In conclusion, in a tourist area with many choices, choose something else.

Excellent food and service. I highly recommend the Caesar salad with shrimp. Prices were good and serving size value for money.

So very surprised. Hadn't been in a couple years. EXCELLENT! Very clean, waitress great. Large selection. Quality GREAT! I got decaf iced coffee which was exceptional! Omelet with avocado, onion, cheddar cheese, home fries, dark rye toast, grilled blueberry muffin. Friend got chocolate chip pancakes, blueberry muffin. And an ENDLESS refill of gingerale!! Every single thing was noteworthy. Outstanding! Sent compliments to chef. They REALLY know what they are doing here. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Can't wait to go back!

The service was ok when we first arrived. Prompt greeting, food was out fairly quickly. After we received our food we never saw the server again-later to find out that they charge a 20% tip automatically-leaving no reason for server to come back to check up! Chowder was watery and mostly broth. Daughter's cheeseburger was burnt to a crisp, leaving it uneatable. Since the server never came back to check on us, she was left without anything edible to eat. They took the burger off our bill and we still paid over $90 for lunch-2 CUPS of chowder, fish and chips, and 2 beers. Outrageous for mediocre food and no service beyond ordering. Don't waste your time-there are better places in Salem that aren't in the center of town.

My husband had a skillet with the Portuguese sausage in it that was excellent. My corned beef hash was okay but great. The waitress was very attentive and overall it was a good experience.

We stopped here for a quick lunch and the employees here understand the meaning of good service. They were attentive and kind and in todays world that is worth a lot. The food was good and came as ordered. We would eat here again.

There are a lot of place to pick from when it comes to eating out in Salem, but if you want a really good meal, enjoyed at one of the nicest outside dining areas, Brothers Taverna deserves to be at the top of your list. Took a friend out for a birthday dinner just the other night and had a great time. Darian, our server, was fabulous: attentive without being overbearing, always available when we needed anything, made a great recommendation when it came to "what to order?". The food was well prepared, arrived hot and tasty. The menu is extensive so there are plenty of choices to pick from. With hours of operation from early morning (it opens at 7am!) and closes at 9, being a local, I'll be back! If you're visiting, you need to stop by.

Amazing breakfast stop while in Salem! I tried the Irish Breakfast and it was my first time trying homemade corned beef hash. The can stuff will never taste the same again. Simply delicious! Our waitress was extremely friendly as well. Thanks so much for the great atmosphere!
