Love the food but I think they closed their doors. Listed phone number is disconnected.
I’ve heard a few good things about this restaurant so I figured it was worth trying. We called in to see if there were reservations available and the person who answered the phone was just plain rude and acted as if we were inconveniencing him by calling. We asked if there were any available reservations or tables and he just said “No” in an irritated tone. I’ll never even give this place a shot because if they’re that rude on the phone I can only imagine how rude they are in person.
Nice ambience. Ok prices. Entree served at piping hot temperature. Overly spicey pasta sauces. Rude server.
I would recommend asking exactly what will come with your meal. I ordered shrimp scampi in butter and oil sauce for $20. Well when it came their were 5 medium sized shrimp with the butter and oil sauce and that's IT, no pasta. When I asked if there was any pasta coming I was told no that's how it comes. So $4 apiece for some medium shrimp. I expressed my dissatisfaction and the waitress says she'll try to get me some pasta. So I eat the shrimp and awhile later she brings me a bowl of pasta with red sauce that tasted like chef boy are d-ee. Two others ordered lasagna and it was half burnt which they did comp on the bill. We had to ask for bread and it was cold. I won't be going back. I recommend going someplace else.
Food was good portions were small for my liking and price
Can't say enough good things about this place! It was a very pleasant dining experience. Everyone was so nice and the food was amazing! Several items on the menu looked so good! We could not just pick our 2 dinners, so we also got a third meal to share! WAY too much food to eat in one sitting. We got the shrimp scampi, veal picata, and lasagna valentina. (They are shown in the pictures) For an appetizer we got the polette (meatballs). The flavors were amazing!! The only bummer about the one meal, is that I ended up getting a couple bites of veal that I couldn't chew. But the lasagna and the special flavors Marco cooks into it made up for it. So good! For desert, we each chose one piece of tiramisu. I'm not usually a big fan of this desert choice but it was NOTHING like other tiramisu that I have tasted! It almost tasted more like a cream cake to me. The coffee flavor was lighter, more chocolate than I would expect and the heavy whipped cream just put it over the top. Again, SO GOOD!!While inside Marco's we learned they offer take-out and family style dinners. Will certainly be back!
It was mostly a great visit and I'll definitely go back! We each had a few minor things we didn't like during the course of our visit, but overall the food was very good, and the staff sincere, friendly and helpful!
Prices are extremely reasonable, portions were great and service was excellent. However, was expecting a little bit more wow factor on the flavor profiles considering I looked up the reviews and the commentary regarding Marcos before I came. I certainly believe his repertoire and I believe he is definitely capable, but the bolognese was pretty disappointing. Bolognese by definition is a complex meat sauce that is usually slow cooked with the addition of heavy cream. This was marinara with an ounce of meat and processed parmesan cheese sprinkled on top to cover up the lack luster sauce. Had they called it spaghetti with meat sauce, I wouldn't have been nearly as critical. I will order different dishes next time and re evaluate this review.I really wanted to give the place at least 4 stars, but I just couldn't because I have eaten at so many great Italian restaurants in the last 2 weeks.
Wonderful food. Delightful service. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Super good food, great service. We happened upon Marcos after trying to go somewhere else that ended up closed. So glad we did. Will definitely be coming back. Portions are good and it is well priced. What a gem!

My friend and I booked a reservation here as we wanted to explore some new restaurants in the downtown Salem area and it’s safe to say that we will be returning asap!We couldn’t believe that we had walked passed them gem so many times and never once walked in until last night. The environment is great, everything was clean and organized but our favorite part was of course the food and the service. Aside from how delicious our meals were, we were so so content with how wonderful the service was. I wish I remembered our waiters name but she was an absolute sweetheart. We told her what we were looking for in a wine and she handed us just that. She also made a great dessert recommendation! We can not wait to go back. Perfect place to go on a couples date night or just out with a friend.
