Not a good place for Pho! We ordered the seafood Pho, and it was low in everything except salt, broth was like a weak tea.

This is in down town salem, a small little spot close to the bus depot. Its open and clean, very cute and warm with the decor. We were seated rite off the bat with a menu and a smile. Water came promptly after that but then ordering seemed to take forever After we did order, food came to us quickly. We both ordered the garden rolls ($4 for two)..... Very good and tender with big slices of real white breast meat of chicken. The sauce that came with was a cross between what tasted like teriyaki sauce and peanut sauce with maybe a splash of soy but, was very nice in flavor.

The best Pho is Salem, hands down. The meat is so tender and delicious!
Wanted to enjoy my experience, tried to, but couldn't. The waiter forgot what we ordered and had to come back and ask again. And then forgot what our drink order was, and had to come back and ask again - why not just write it down in the first place? He seemed very frazzled, and that would be understandable if the restaurant was super busy, but less than one quarter of the tables were occupied. Anyway... our appetizer order came back incorrect. We said it was okay and ate it anyway. For entrees, we ordered the ginger chicken and the lemongrass chicken. We were served ginger chicken and chicken curry. So I had to wait even longer for them to re-make my order. When my lemongrass chicken arrived... well, the menu doesn't state that the lemongrass chicken comes in an EXTREMELY strong fish sauce. It was inedible to my Western palate, even though I am not a picky eater by any means. Or perhaps Grandma in the kitchen is developing Alzheimer's...?

This is the best quality fresh flavorful Vietnamese food in Salem. We have enjoyed homemade French roll sandwiches, perfect pho, shrimp rolls, curry, and many home made recipes. It has always been steaming hot with condiments available, our first choice for lunch or early dinner
