I usually love Tanaka, but today's service was disappointing. We always come here on our birthdays to redeem our $15 birthday reward. My mother drove all the way to this location on her day off to redeem her birthday reward, but was denied! The person working told her the reward system doesn't always work and therefore they refused to honor it. My mother was very disappointed. What a waste of time especially when she drove over 30 minutes JUST for this. If the rewards system doesn't work, then it needs to be removed. My friend also just went recently for his birthday and even though there were some technical difficulties, the cashier was kind enough to override it so he still got his birthday treat. But no one could do that for my mother? Why are there inconsistencies among staff? Tanaka, do better. Taking all my business to Tokyo Sando from now on.

Love this place! One of the only spots close to us where we've found Japanese curry. Sandwiches are also great. For a real treat eat outside on the patio on a Friday or Saturday night when there is live music at Bridgeport

I received a gift card for my birthday, specifically for the Bridgeport location. When we got there they said they wouldn’t honor it, managers new rule. The email was in my name, my address, my loyalty card info, that location. They wouldn’t budge, they said I could drive to Gresham and use it there! We all left and ate elsewhere. The new manager has no clue about retaining good customers and general customer service. We were to dine in for dinner, $50-$100 tab.
Update:- I received a call from corporate who said that it was a mistake, and they will absolutely accept the coupon. He was very prompt in answering my email and is making it right by speaking to the manager and offering me a gift card. So their customer service at corporate level is excellent.

My partner and I were looking forward to get the sando for lunch. Perhaps, there is an issue with the online ordering, because we didn't get what we ordered. Through the online ordering, I chose the combo katsu sando of pork and chicken that each comes with egg salad and soda. Instead, we received katsu curry with rice and just one of the egg salad instead of two. The combo costs $24, so we are quite disappointed. I hope the management can fix this issues.
One of our favorite places! Unfortunately something has changed - ordered my usual (spicy tofu) and the katsu was totally different than before and not in a good way. The bread was toasted which was different (I liked it) but honestly, something was just not good about the katsu sauce.
Their fries are the absolute best and that curry sauce is amazing!!

Their katsu sando is sooo good. Definitely worth checking out if you are shopping at Bridgeport or in the area. Staff is always friendly up front. you can see into the kitchen as well and i enjoy hearing the chefs talk/watching them cook the meals.

Really weird customer service from Sara. I honestly do not know how do you have them working as the front person. I received the wrong order and she was the most unhelpful, she just looked at me said “okay” with a death stare and that was about it. If it wasn’t for the kitchen, being helpful and stepping in right away I would probably still have there wrong food items. By the way the kitchen handled it you can tell that is the way she works, they seemed annoyed by her actions, I felt for them as someone who works in the industry… sucks to work with someone who doesn’t care. Tbh, she looks like she is a liability (she looks high).

i got lunch here, the next day flew to disneyland for a family trip.
mid way through my day while waiting in line for the matterhorn i felt something rumbling. i thought i could hold out but damn the line was moving so slow. i finally decided it was either gonna be a squirty mess in my toboggan or i needed to gtfo of line.
i waddled my way past the tea cups trying not the let anything SLIP OUT and barely made it to the bathroom.
there i had to sit for nearly an hour making my family wait for me while i fought for my life having the worst diarrhea i have ever had in my life. someone even walked in and said “oh girl it stinks”. humiliating.
