We attended McMenamin’s Wassail Cider fest in January so we wanted to try more of their ciders and this is what popped up online. We got the cider flight and the red wine flight, both of which were really good. However, the wine flight they gave us 2 of the 4 glasses, then told us to come back to the back for the other 2, which was a bit weird and honestly I wasn’t a fan of. The service was also pretty lackluster, it was walk up service, which seems to be pretty common in the PNW so we’ve grown accustomed to it, but when its walk up service, I expect a little more when I do come to the bar to order. There were two employees, a blonde woman that I’d guess was in her 20s and a middle aged gentleman. The woman was very nice and enthusiastic and seemed eager to help, but the man seemed like he was doing everything he could to avoid serving guests; when I returned to the bar for the second half of our wine flight, he noticed me, but proceeded to drink water, pace around, look in the storage closet, take a step towards me, turn around, take his sweatshirt off, look around again, then finally came up. As a bartender myself, it seemed like all the things that someone does when they don’t want to help a guest, so they try to waste as much time as possible until another co-worker comes to help them. The vibe was pretty cool being in the basement with glass windows all around so you could see the wine barrels, but it was a bit too dark in my opinion, which made it seem kind of dingy being in the basement. I also wasn’t a fan that when you walk in, there are no signs or menus, just brochures advertising other McMenamin’s properties, and the bar is very small with standing room only and very crowded. It reminded me of a busy college bar where I had to fight through to order drinks, but in this case I had to do that just to see a menu, let alone order a drink; not exactly the experience I want from a tasting room. Overall though, it was still unique experience and I’m sure it would be really cool to stay on property, but I don’t think I’d go back.

A fun and lively place to taste local wine, McMenamins Edgefield Winery is always worth a visit. I’ve been a few times and always enjoy the laid-back atmosphere — and if you’re lucky, you might catch some live music, which adds to the charm. The only downside is that when the music is playing, it can get pretty loud, making it less ideal if you’re hoping for quiet conversation.

The food, served at the Black Rabbit Bar, is always excellent. Whenever I eat there, I make sure to order the Dry-Fried Chicken Wings made with soy, ginger, and Thai chili — you really can’t go wrong with these! The service can be a little on the slow side, but it’s always worth the wait.

My favorite wine is the White Rabbit — a fruity, refreshing white that’s perfect for a sunny afternoon. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or just looking for a casual outing, Edgefield Winery offers a fun and memorable experience.

Hailey, our incredible server, was amazing, knowledgeable, patient, and delightful company! If you get the chance to interact with her, consider yourself a lucky duck. My partner and I each had a different flight and ended up going home with two tasty bottles. I can't wait to come back!!

Please be careful. This location is no joke… do some research about the edge field location before visiting, if you choose to spend the night bring sage and cleanse yourself, and your area. If you have the misfortune of being in the room I did with the painted faces on the ceiling don’t look them in the eyes.
I was a kid and my mom had my wedding here..
All spiritually sensitive souls steer clear.
Guidance gifts, portals, seers, and the unspoken survivors, if you come here then only come here with the intent to work, if you come here for fun, then come protected. I can’t even place the energy.. I can’t even tell you what followed me back from there. All I know is what it did to me and my family. This isn’t no warrens the conjuring stuff.. this is a bridge between the darkness of life and the absence of soul.. great food tho? Ghost hunters, don’t be dumb. This isn’t your kitschy venue. Spiritualists, my brothers and sisters, it took me half my life to purify my energy from the dark sticky consumption that feeds off these grounds, I don’t know what else I can say..

Edgefield is probably McMenamins biggest properties. It has a distillery, winery and brewery onsite. The food is pretty good at the various restuarants on property. Its mostly burgers/sandwhiches but done well. They also a small golf course, soaking pools, movie theater and pool hall. All of the alcohol is made onsite and has an extra element of locally produced to it. I recommend getting your McMenamins passport and taking advantage of the perks.

Wife and I ordered wine to send home while we were at the tasting room. Weeks go by and wine still had not shipped even after receiving an electronic receipt of purchase and a charge on my credit card. I sent multiple emails asking when the wine would be shipped even after the wine manager, Anthony Gittings said the wine would ship; it actually never did. Multiple phone calls, emails, and a voicemail have all gone unanswered.I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company since no one at the winery seems to care.Hopefully someone else has a better experience than my wife and I have.
