The food is OK, even though the beer is great! We ordered the fish and chips and the Aztec salad with fried chicken.
The fish and chips were good, although the portion size for the price was a bit disappointing. The remoulade was great though! The chicken on the salad was done really well, but the salad was kind of meh. Definitely not something that keeps a person coming back. Plus, the prices are high in comparison to other places with more interesting menus. It might be time for McMenamins to freshen up their food offerings.
The atmosphere is typical McMenamins, lots of vintage kitsch. It's cool and I love that they bring new life to old buildings and institutions (literally in this case). Service here was fine.

This place was definitely quirky. Reminds me of an old church- and smells like one too. Not necessarily bad, just different. I had a Turkey au jus sandwich and it was pretty decent. This wouldn't be a regular place for me, but it is fun to see.

I love this place... Food was great as always. Server even let us sample the coffee bacon jam (yum) & I have to say, I just love the smell of old buildings like this. It adds so much to the character for me. Please never unnecessarily remodel!!

Saw a coyote, 2 rabbits & a raccoon. All in the middle of the day. It was like a petting zoo.

We were a party of 4. We made reservations we arrive on time. We were seated, and the restaurant only had 3 other tables occupied. After we sat, we waited for 35 minutes and finally asked the hostes for help. 10 minutes later, a server arrived, apologized, and said our server would be right with us and took our drink order. They waiter finally came around and took our order. One of our parties has a food allergy. He told the waited and asked what he could safely eat, and he ordered according. After another 26 minutes we got our drinks and 9 minutes later our food arrived. The person with the food allergy was served food he COULD NOT EAT because he was allergic to the base items. We flagged our waited and explained the error. Then, that person had to wait another 30 minutes for their food. The waiter was rude to us but seemed to be enjoying his other three tables. The waiter seemed openly hostle to us, especially my gay son and his partner, who, by the way, had a serious food allergy and was given food he is very allergic too! He never checked on us, asked how our food was, or asked if we wanted refills. The manager took off my sons food and apologized. 3 hours later, we left feeling discriminated against, $80.00 lighter, and a very bad taste in our mouth. The Black Rabbit was once my favorite place to eat. It's too bad the service is going downhill and the menu is not as good. Oh, and I dont recommend the cheese platter it's very expensive, and the selection is very pour. 3 pieces of cheese and a few grapes is over $20.00.. it used to be amazing!

I've been coming to McMenamins Power Station for at least thirty years, and this place really hasn't changed at all over the years, still as funky as ever. The vibe and atmosphere are McMenamins at their best, but I really can't give the food and service more than four stars; really good, but not great.

Nice place to be out but not be in the city.
Parking is good for regular vehicles without a trailer. Roads are narrow and tight for an RV.
Vegetarian options: The menu is full of them..
Dietary restrictions: They have plant if plant based options, really not much for carnivores.
Parking: Narrow access roads, no turn lane into the grounds
Kid-friendliness: Don't bring your kids, if I want to be around them I'd have them.

This place was fascinating.
My husband and I were visiting from out of town, and decided to try this place for lunch. Of course we accidentally walked into the lodge first, and wondered around until one of the information desk workers told us how to get to the pub.
The garden we walked through was beautiful. The grounds themselves were a sight to see. Once we made to the pub we were able to get seated quickly. Our waitress was super sweet and was able to tell us about some of the history of the place. Loved our beers and the burgers were cooked perfectly. Will definitely recommend this place to others!

32 years and they haven’t changed a bit. Fabulous atmosphere and location but the food and service are horrible. They weren’t busy but still it took at least 5 minutes to even be acknowledged and another 5 or 10 to be seated. It was painfully slow service throughout our meal. When food did arrive we tried to use the pepper shaker. It was empty. I scrounged pepper from five other tables before finding one with peppercorns in it. When our twenty dollar burgers did arrive they came on cold buns with undercooked burger. Dry as hockey pucks.
Upon leaving we used the restrooms. If we had seen them before eating I’m sure it would have made us leave then. No soap in the dispensers, only one paper towel dispenser with paper in it and it was gross to touch. Just filthy.
It’s such a magical place but the service and food are a huge negative. Come for a drink but go somewhere else to eat.

Came in right around midnight on Friday, few people at the bar counter and a couple in a booth.
Had to wait just a little bit for service and to order but she was friendly and helpful with drinks.
Food was made in good time. The burger was loved, the chicken Rueben not so much.
Great concept but the chicken needs to be flattened more, hard to bite into and it doesn’t cover the whole piece of bread. Bread ends up deteriorating from the sauce and sauerkraut. But very flavorful chicken.
They have so many drink options it’s really hard to choose.
