We are frequent flyers with the Red Robin chain. We are at our local Red Robin nearly once a week. There was some miss communication about my order at the beginning. We also noticed a shift change or something similar. We were in tbe bar. The bar tender refilled our drinks and the waitress that took over our table was awsome. The manager made it wright. The staff was pretty great. Thank you to those involves. We regret that we didn't get any names. We could have had a bad experience but it Was not.

Waited 30 minutes and no one came to take out order or even say “sorry we are short staffed or running behind” other tables who were sat after us got orders taken right away. Walked out absolutely worst time ever!

I realized that it was very busy at the time, however, after I was seated I never got anything to drink while I waited not even water. Then after 25 mins of waiting, with nothing to drink, or my order being taken. I had to walk out.

AVOID THE SERVER AMANDA

“Known for our bottomlsss sides” was the first thing our server, Amanda, told us but good luck getting them from her. We came on a slow Monday and after being seated were immediately chatted up by the hostess, who specifically mentioned how Mondays are slow, and a manager, but still had to wait another 3+ minutes for Amanda, who didn’t have any other tables at the time. Amanda was terrible. My girlfriend and I worked in the hospitality industry for years so don’t take it lightly when I say Amanda is easily the worst server I’ve ever seen. She moved at a glacial pace, except when she chased after us to yell at us as we walked out the door since we didn’t tip. All of her tables had to wait a minimum of 5-10 minutes (often more) just for her to stop by. She would enter her section, go straight to a table the turn around and leave without acknowledging any of her other tables. She specifically ignored us twice in a row while we waited 10 minutes to order more “bottomless” fries and even then I had to get out of my chair to intercept her on the other side of the room and her response was “how can I help you?” in a surprised sassy tone. I didn’t see her take away a single empty glass or dish from a single table and at least 90% of the food for her tables was delivered by other servers with just as more guests. Our table was so full of dirty dishes by the end, we had to put them on the railing to the side (see picture). Be wary of the cost for everything, all “bottomless” sides are an upcharge besides the regular fries, which we didn’t know until we saw the check. There also were no prices on the drinks and one of the drinks (Pop Pop Fizz) was 2x the cost of all the other drinks. Having a bill of $82 for a couple that ordered 2 drinks each and 2 meals at a chain like this is ridiculous. At the end we explained the situation to a manager, Justin, who was nice enough to listen and reduce the price of the Pop Pop Fizz to the same as the standard drinks, but that definitely doesn’t change how poor the service was. At the end, I requested a receipt, which never came so I had to ask Amanda and when she returned she was very sassy and since I didn’t engage, she ended up chasing us out of the door yelling at us to have a good day for the third time. Maybe it’s worth eating here, but I’d be sure to ask the host for anyone but Amanda.

UPDATE: Red Robin Corporate customer service did reach out a week later to apologize and attempt to rectify our experience

My wife's chicken was burnt and rubbery, and the fries were overcooked. The hostess was dismissive, and the service overall was slow. This was our second bad experience in a row at this location, and this time we brought up our concerns to the manager. This was not the experience we have grown to enjoy from the brand, and we let him know that. He comped the messed up burger and apologized profusely. Because of that, we will give the location one more try, because we have had great experiences at the Woodburn Red Robin before.

Well, never returning to this place… from the moment we walked in, it was a disaster. We stood waiting for a hostess to seat us, while a sever walked by with a nearly empty milkshake in her hand from a table she cleared that was just pouring a trail all over the floor. Still with no acknowledgement, she saw what she’d done and went to get another employee to help her mop. Meanwhile, still waiting to be sat in a nearly empty restaurant. Finally the hostess came from the back with no look of hurry or concern, no apology or even acknowledgement of the wait. We were sat and I promptly took my toddler to the restroom to change him. Both stalls were taken as I waited and another lady waited behind us. The two in the stalls were clearly employees because they were loudly talking about customers, the milkshake spill, and loudly about the toilet paper not unrolling, all while dropping F-bombs and other swear words. Again, holding my toddler waiting for the stall with the changing table (which was filthy and stunk btw). Went back out after and of course the other employee that had been in the stall was now our server. She took our order and then disappeared. Other employees delivered our food. Our meals were supposed to come with “bottomless sides” and bottomless beverages—we only got the initial. Because we sat for over half an hour waiting on our server to ask for refills and other items. She never came. Fearing she’d left her shift, I went to the hostess stand to ask for a server as at that point we were ready to just leave. The hostess completely ignored me and stood with a phone to her ear. I waited about 15 total minutes as she stared down at a paper, never said a word on the phone or to me, never looked at me or acknowledged myself or the couple that had joined in waiting behind me. Finally, I just grabbed another server as they walked by so we could get boxes and leave. No one removed anything from our bill or bothered with an excuse outside of “being busy”. There were 4 total other tables in the restaurant when we left, and by my count, 5 servers walking around. That wouldn’t be a high number of tables for a single server if they had been staggered (as they were). We were treated so poorly here and the food is pretty much microwave Tyson’s garbage. Will not return.

We visited on Veterans' Day, and my wife had a complimentary birthday meal. I got the veteran special, she got a burger, and I asked the server, Catherine, for two 20-ounce beers. Catherine said we had to use separate tabs because two deals can't be on the same tab, so we opted to split the bill. When the bill came, my wife's birthday special wasn't honored, and we paid full price for her meal ($29), since beer doesn't count as the required $5 purchase with the birthday meal. I don't know why they waited until we were finished to inform us, and Catherine took about 15 minutes to get it sorted. Felt like a bait-and-switch with a side of server incompetence. They say to contact them, but they don't respond to emails. This place is a glorified Wendy's buyer-beware. Stick with In-and-Out or other reputable chains.

I love Red Robin, but unfortunately the service here was awful. We were not checked on once after food was delivered, and it was not busy. No opportunity for refills, no opportunity for more fries or more sauces. We were walked by several times without asking if we needed anything or acknowledgement. We had to quite literally track someone down for napkins and a box. Wont be back to this location.
