It was really fun you would think you wouldn’t want to sit outside but it’s actually a greenhouse with a koi pond the waiter was super nice and the food was great I don’t like my meal quite as much but the salad was really good I would recommend the apple walnut pie!

Fish and chips are great, stay away from the crab cakes. All breading and a small amount of ground crab. Slow service. Had to ask multiple times for straws. Once we were served we never saw our server again, no water refill, nothing. Didn’t stay there. 20% gratuity and city food tax. The service we got would get nothing more than 5%. I assume the bad service is because they have already screwed you for 20% so why Put out the extra effort.

We always struggle to find restaurants with gluten-free options for our daughter. The Drift Inn restaurant has a huge selection. Our daughter got to eat her first calamari and fish and chips in the 12 years since she became gluten intolerant.

We only came in for food and drinks. We would not come back for food and drinks. We ordered 2 hot coco and a chai latte, I could have immediately poured it onto a babies chest and that baby would have thought their mom was giving them a cold bath. 2 out of 4 meals were extremely over-cooked, the only meal I'd consider decent were the Nachos, and for some reason they took 15 extra minutes to plate after they already delivered the other 3 meals.
The best part, after all this...We got charged a mandatory 20% tip on top of a 4$ charge per check for city food tax, and then had the audacity to have a line to leave an additional tip.

The good: The Mole Enchiladas were better than any Mexican restaurant within 200 miles and the pizzas were fantastic. The shop has some hilarious goodies and the drinks are made extremely well.

The bad: the parking is horrific, especially when it's busy. But with such a small parking lot on a 1 way street, there isn't much else they can do.

Restaurant is the best place to eat in Yachats. Food is excellent, service is wonderful, and the garden patio is lovely. We tried a few other places around town and nearby towns but Drift Inn was peak.

Fantastic food, amazing service, fantastic location, comfy, cozy, just phenomenal! Such a great place in a perfect location! The chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy were the best ive had in the North! Seriously a nice place to relax and have a cocktail and brunch!

Yummy and full of history. Nothing bad to say at all. Chowder full of goodness and good portion for mains. Neat history and really cool bathrooms!

we were gonna spend the weekend at the coast for lunch, we couldn’t make our mind up where we wanted to go, looked up the driftwood in decided to give it a shot. First appearance we were sort of like maybe maybe not after we decided to give it. A shot we were surprised the service was good. The kids were nice. The food was very good. The calamari the chicken wings, and the pizza. Great margaritas will definitely go back the next time we’re down at the coast.

Put us on a waiting list then crossed our names off and served everyone coming in behind us. Go and ask and then waited longer. Then they take a mandatory 20% tip and a 5% city tax. 25% and now they are telling us they are understaffed waiting on our meal. ?

Was not going to post this review publicly because I do really enjoy the location overall. But then upon bringing this up by sharing my experience with the Drift Inn and hearing nothing more than "Huh, well thx for the feedback.", I feel it is needed.

This place used to be amazing. I'm not sure if they changed ownership, labor practices, or input quality, but they have absolutely changed something. Just look at the other reviews.

As far as my experience -

The tofu lettuce wraps - they were exceptionally dry, with zero inherent flavor, and left me wanting anything else. I've had various versions of lettuce wraps. These were bad. No sauce or inherent flavor inside the wraps themselves. Way too much dry, undressed greens, too little tofu, and too many dry carrot shreds (both inside and on the plate itself). Will not order again.

Mole enchiladas... The mole was sweet and chocolatey, but had absolutely zero backbone. No stock. No thickness. No depth. Honestly, it tasted like chocolate sugar water. By far the worst rendition of mole that I've ever experienced. Perhaps having lived in northern New Mexico has ruined me, but the offering was little more than watery wet tortillas with chocolate flavor.

The salad with lemon vinaigrette. This was ok. The dressing was super thin and it felt like it just couldn't carry the flavor it was trying to, but again, it was ok.

Halibut sandwich, teriyaki style. The fish was ok. It tasted like it was towards the end of its shelf life with some of the inherent flavors, but with the teriyaki sauce, pineapple, and cheese, it ended up pretty good. By far, the best thing that we had that evening.

The dessert, tasted little more than chocolate pudding in a cup.

Again... I'm not saying we don't like the place. We really do. The food just seems to have gone downhill, and it's a shame because I've had it when it has been top notch - but that was several years ago.

Love Yachats. Love The Drift Inn. Don't love what the food has become.

Additionally there was no music on Tuesday evening. The biggest, perhaps coziest, of draws of live music every day of the year, was not in effect. Strange because that's also what makes, or made, that place what it is, or was.

Cut the quality and stop the music, the people will most certainly stop coming - no matter how cozy the rooms.

"Huh, well thx for the feedback."

The rooms are great. Fun, funky vibe. But part of what made this place special was when they incorporated quality food.

If you're coming up the coast, eat in Newport, stay in Yachats.

Rooms: Super comfortable bedding and pillows.

Food and drinks: Read review.

We went for dinner, but we're staying at a different hotel. The food was good and the service was great.

Delicious dinner though prices keep creeping up. 100+ for two now. Reminder gratuity and city sales tax are included. The live music is always great. The service is always great. The Drift Inn version of moqueca is amazing and worth the price tag if you want an amazing dish.

Rooms were mostly clean, just a little sand in the shower. The room was nice with beautiful ocean views. Mattress seemed a little hard, but not bad. We didn't have a pet, but they are dog friendly. Seems like everybody there had a dog.

Food was ok. Like same quality can be gotten anywhere. Nothing special. Got the "house made" Reuben and for whatever reason it was chopped up like Philly cheesesteak and chewy as if it has been reheated more than once or left on a flat top too long.

They charge 20% gratuity on all food plus there's a "yachts city food tax" of 1 $
So a Reuben with fries and water was 25 dollars...

It's a tourist spot for sure... there's 200$ umbrellas hanging everywhere
