“This is a special place. Liege waffles are very different than anything I've ever had. They are made from a yeast dough, with caramelized brown sugar inside, smallish, and served warm in a napkin so that you can take it with you while window shopping. Please note: these are not meant to be served with ice cream on top. The ice cream and waffles are both very good by themselves. The owner only serves them together because people ask for that, but I think they ask for it because they think that's how it's meant to be served. (At least, that's what we thought!)“

“On our road trip back from NY, we deliberately stopped in Pittsburgh just to visit Alihan's. The Turkish coffee is my favorite beverage and I'll admit I had 5 of them on this visit. 🙂 My husband and I ordered one of the breakfast spreads for 2 and it was fabulous. The veggies, bread with fresh honey and butter as well as the eggs were incredible. All of the veggies and fruits were fresh and delicious.“

If you’re a boba lover, Tiger Sugar is a must-try! I visited recently and ordered their classic Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Cream Mousse, and it was hands down one of the best boba experiences I’ve had. The drink itself is visually stunning, with those signature “tiger stripes” created by the rich brown sugar syrup swirling through the milk. But it’s not just about the looks—this drink delivers on taste!

The brown sugar flavor is deep and caramel-like, blending perfectly with the cold, fresh milk for a creamy, indulgent sip. The tapioca pearls are warm and chewy, cooked to perfection, and the addition of the cream mousse on top brings everything together with a slight savory note that balances out the sweetness.

One thing to note is that you can’t adjust the sweetness level, but honestly, I didn’t find it overwhelmingly sweet. The flavor profile is perfectly crafted, so each ingredient complements the others. Tiger Sugar clearly knows what they’re doing with their premium ingredients and slow-cooked syrups—every sip feels thoughtfully prepared and deliciously satisfying.

Overall, if you’re looking for a unique boba treat that’s both Instagram-worthy and delicious, Tiger Sugar deserves a solid 5 stars!“

“This place is amazing, local and they have very unique handmade flavor offerings that my family loves. I’m giving them four stars after multiple times driving across town, with excited children only to be greeted with a paper on the window explaining some special circumstances for which they have to be closed for the day. If only they would update their hours online.“

“There were more drinks and toppings than in Japan. In particular, there are 13 types of toppings, and if you ask the staff, they will let you sample them. The clerk was kind and understood my poor English. Also, orders are placed from a terminal, so it doesn't matter if you don't speak English. It's located on a street lined with many shops, so if you're in Pittsburgh, be sure to check it out!“

“We came to this location for our first time experience and Patrick was our server. We had the BEST breakfast experience!!!!!! Patrick was absolutely amazing, even with how insanely busy the place was he was tentatively checking in on us, being helpful, and overall just an AWESOME server. “What can I say? I love Carmi Express! Seriously some of the best ribs in Pittsburgh. The shrimp and grits is wonderful too. You can’t go wrong with any of their side dishes including yams, greens and baked beans. For a taste that will blow your mind enjoy the baked beans on the Carmi Express cornbread and you will thank me later.So happy to have this little piece of Heaven in the neighborhood!“
