Classic Altoona establishment. My first time there since 1997 and as soon as I walked through the door was overwhelmed with memories. Outstanding food and service. Great atmosphere!
Had a good experience as someone just passing through from out of town. Got the infamous Altoona hotel pizza and some wings. Enjoyed both...12 wings 6 cut pizza was soda and a beer was $40...which seemed fair. would go back
As we were headed through Altoona during dinner time, we decided to find a place to stop and eat. We made a great choice with Al’s Tavern. The wood panel walls and framed vintage posters give it a retro vibe. The food was really good. We split a Baked Ham and Cheese sub and a large order of fried. I didn’t love all of the lettuce and dressing on the sandwich but it was good enough that I would order it again. We appreciated that all of the wait staff shared responsibility...
