I was here and thry had a buffet style of straight dry nasty unseasoned food. The food looked like straight throw up and the smells were horrendous. Thr cake was stale and thr green beans were unseasoned as well. Do not go here at all.

Always a Delight to go here, staff very pleasant, helpful with disabled people. Food is exceptional. Many different types of food. Price is very comparable to other restaurants. It is under construction at the time we went 7/19/25 so we went elsewhere. But we will be going back when we travel there again ! 😃

It was a lot better than I expected going there for my first time. Great food, I was surprised by the variety of food that they had available and made fresh.

The bird in hand is my all-time favorite in Lancaster. In addition to their fantastic food, they also offer shows there has never been a disappointment.

**Be sure to check their Facebook page for a reopening date for dine in service as they continue renovations from last year’s Fire.
A must-stop for authentic Pennsylvania Dutch comfort food! The Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord offers a huge selection of delicious, home-cooked dishes on their buffet. Everything tastes fresh, and the staff are incredibly friendly. It's a wonderful place for a hearty meal with family or friends!

Our bus stopped today after our Sight and Sound trip. The food was not homemade--it was mediocre at best. My son picked up 3 rolls with mold on them, and our drinks at our table were not refilled. I was looking forward to this lunch, but highly disappointed.

Outstanding place for family buffet. And our server, Linda, went above and beyond to make our 8 year old's birthday special

We love this place. I always get the salad bar. It has so much to choose from including 2-3 different soups.

Food had no taste. Best thin I ate was mashed potatoes and salad. Turkey was in a tray in warm water, ravioli sauce was thin like water and tasteless, baked sausage was kept warm in water. The desert bar was very good. I can't recommend this place to anyone.

I was planning a visit—can someone confirm if the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant is still open?
Disappointed. The food was edible, but not one item could be considered better than mediocre at best. We ate at Miller's down the street earlier this trip and Miller's was spectacular. We were hoping that the Bird in Hand restaurant would at least be a close competitor, but sadly No. It was a bit like the cafeteria food I remember from middle school. In fairness, the waitress said that she recommended ordering from the menu and we should have listened. There's also a sign on the restaurant door saying that they will close for the season on 12/28 and reopen in the spring of 2025.
