The food was just Okay. $10 for Penn Mac Tiramisu is a little crazy. I'll be back for pizza to go but that's probably all as some of the wait staff need to chill with the perfume it's extremely offensive to smell in general let alone when your eating especially for people who are sensitive to things like that.

Casual, loud, but what really gets me is if you are going to charge me 9.63 for my pizza and i pay with $10 cash, and you only give me .35 in change and not .37, you're essentially cheating me out of money, and all your other cash customers. I was not even asked if i was OK with this practice, cause i could have given exact change...if the penny is obsolete, then adjust your prices accordingly to take this into account.

This used to be my favorite Italian place to eat, , but no longer. The prices have gone way up with a new menu. I’ve never paid $30 for a bowl of pasta. If I did at any restaurant in this area, I would be taking some home. I paid $21 for a salad today. Way overpriced. At one time it was very reasonable .

Disappointed. They make my favorite new York style pizza here in pittsburgh.....

Hey management, update your prices and print what your actually charging for each item on the receipt. I shouldn't have to read my order like its an estimate from a contractor. Feels scammy.

I will start by saying, if you want a slice to go, this is a great spot, when I lived closed to the area, I’d always pickup a slice after a movie. I think it’s like $6 a slice and the slices are huge, definitely give it a try!

My sit down service has been a lil less great though over the times I’ve been. If I’m ever sitting down here, I will always have 3 kids with me. We’ve been here multiple times, and we typically order the same thing every time, 3 kids pastas and meatball, a pepperoni roll to share, and either wings, or a couple slices of pizza. Usually averages around $70 after tip I think? Last time I went in, I was told I couldn’t order a third kids pasta… the reason was because it was for me haha the portions here are HUGE (the kids pasta is literally the adult pasta just half the portion) and truthfully I can’t eat an entire adult pasta portion here and I’m not the biggest fan of leftovers. Now I’d understand maybe if I only had two kids with me, but I had three kids, and one of them ordered two slices of pizza (I’d consider that an adult entree). Should I have ordered the kids the pasta and me the pizza and just switched with one of the kids? My spaghetti was $25! For a bowl of spaghetti and 2 meatballs. Kinda crazy if you ask me. I would say if you don’t want to serve adults the “kids menu” then put that on the menu, or I should be allowed to order what I want, especially when 3 children are present. Anyway, good food, huge portions, can be very expensive, we will probably go back just because the kids love the pasta haha but I won’t ever order that $25 pasta again when I can get a slice for $6

I was running late, so I voice texted the friends I was meeting at the Village Italian Village trattoria to order me chicken fettuccine alfredo. And if it came with a side salad, to give me vinaigrette dressing. I was driving, couldn't look at the menu, but figured, how expensive can a plate of pasta be? It was my first time to visit this restaurant.
Before I arrived, my friends saw, that according to the menu, there was a special that night on appetizers and asked the waitress about it. She said that was not true, the menu hadn't been updated and this was now not available.
My dinner was good, but nothing great. One of my friends ordered a stromboli and the other ordered a calzone. Their portions were huge and they said the food was good, but nobody raved about it.
During our meal, our waitress seemed oblivious. We had to ask two or three times for refills on drinks, and to get bags for leftovers. After three requests for coffee, one of my friends gave up and quit asking. I'm normally a generous tipper, but I left our server a measly tip because it's all she deserved. None of us were happy with her service.
Then came the bill. I was in shock! That plate of Alfredo cost $32!!!!!!! $32 for a plate of pasta with some chicken on top!!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! And no, it did not come with a salad, that was $7 extra. So a pasta and salad dinner cost me over $40!!!! Outrageous.
Meanwhile a plate of chicken alfredo - with broccoli - at Applebee's cost about $15. And although it's a smaller portion, it's not much different in quality.
In conclusion, considering the cost and the service, I will NEVER go back to Italian Village Trattoria. Very disappointed.

Edited my review to one star after going back and the person at the register was also touching my food without tongs or gloves. Disgusting. Money is dirty. Do better.

Had a really good experience here. Everyone was friendly, and our server Kailyn was super helpful with the menu and telling us what was popular. She was extra careful about our son’s peanut allergy, which made us feel a lot more comfortable. Staff greeted us when we walked in and they all had happy faces! We ordered two pizzas both their “regular” fed my husband and our three children. We had the meatballs as an appetizer, they came out quite close with our pizzas, so more so part of our meal. Overall, a great meal and we’d definitely come back.

Atmosphere got a -1 because it was so loud. We originally came in because we thought it was a fancier atmosphere, not what we expected. There is a pizza counter and all lights are on, making the atmosphere tough to change i guess.

It’s incredible that today January 03, 2026 my friend and I waited 40 minutes for our food and then they come out to say that there is a problem with the kitchen and that they can’t deliver it, terrible service

I'm propelled to post my plentiful appreciation for any place providing pizza by the slice. Problematic with this specific pizza place is the positively preposterous placement of plenty of sauceless pizzas prominently on the menu! Plenty of people would presume that, even if not printed, all pizzas would be prepared with sauce. But no! Prepare to provide precise preparation details to ensure proper pizza.
