My salad was so saturated with dressing the spinach was wilted and it was overbearing to eat. My husband’s pulled pork sandwich was completely soggy on the bottom. I truly believe our food sat in the kitchen. The service was extremely slow. We were there over 2 hours for a salad and a sandwich. We had to ask to take our order. We had to ask when it would be out. We had to ask for our check. I would not have a desire to go back. This is the first I have ever given a review. I felt it was necessary as they were not that busy. We arrived at 12:23. We left at 2:15.

I ordered the salmon and it was delicious! Great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Overall a great first experience there.
Great place to celebrate my birthday with my husband. The weather was gorgeous so we sat outside in the deck and could see and hear the water. Food was excellent. We enjoyed each course and service was fantastic highly recommend
The food and drinks are very good here. Allenberry has awesome grounds. Their new menu (started a few months ago) has been impressive. We usually sit at the bar and get great service from Mike, who's very friendly and has great recommendations

Excellent service, delicious food with many gluten-free options, beautiful location with lovely view of the Yellow Breeches from the dining room. We always enjoy dining at The Barn at Allenberry with our family!!
Beautiful site. Food was good. Service. Awful. Waitress took orders & then disappeared. Food runner dropped off starters. There were 6 of us. No plates. I had to get up & get them. We asked for a straw. Never came. I had to get up & get Ordered side we didn’t get. For the longest time, no wait staff. Finally a food runner told us they all decided to take break together. Here’s the best: ask hostess if wait staff were available & she replied ‘I don’t know what that means’ 🙄

Gave us a crummy table by the sliding door to the outside patio. It was rather cold and the staff keep forgetting to close the door. One of our guests got the scallops with polenta and the polenta was dirt cold. It's to bad cause we like this place, we live close, and really want to go there more often. Our waitress was very attentive and professional.
Decided to have my birthday dinner here but it was a mistake. For how expensive this place is, the service was not up to par. For starters the waitress, Allie, forgot our drinks, we waited for about 15 mins, food came out and still no drinks so had to ask someone else for it.
The house bread, focaccia with honey butter for $8, came with 3 slices of bread…was not good it was like a crouton, super tough and dry. The flavor wasn’t what focaccia is normally either, it was bland. She told us the steak entree would not disappoint, but it did disappoint. The steak was tiny, about 1.5” wide and 4” long and very thin. She rarely came out to see how we were doing and never asked if we wanted refills of the drinks even though it was empty. I noticed the other waitress, was very attentive, asked if they want refills and nice to the other table, my birthday dinner would have been better if she was my waitress. I ordered truffle fries with my meal and received regular fries instead so had to ask someone for it to be corrected. Overall food tasted good (other than the focaccia) but the steak was a joke, service was poor and received no apology for the drinks being forgotten and food being incorrect.

Nice cozy vibe and menu. Fire roaring in the lobby area-nice! Cocktails and wine were very good. Service was very good. They were a little delayed bringing our main meal, after apps, and the hostess actually apologized and offered to bring some bread for free. Appreciated that they even acknowledged it and offered something in response. All meals were very good, although the short rib grilled cheese could have used a bit more cheese and maybe a side of spicy mustard? It needed a little something, but great concept. Love what they are trying to do at Allenberry. Keep it up!
I had the tomahawk pork chop. Very very good. Great flavors. We had the mushroom/leek soup. To die for!

Amazing experience. Top notch dining experience with a menu full of meals to try. My wife and I both got a smash burger which was the best I've had in awhile. We also both enjoyed salads that were delicious too. The ambiance and service was very nice, we are eager to get back again to enjoy more of their food offerings.
Had an amazing Valentine’s Day dinner! Staff was great, manager kept checking tables to make sure everything was good, food was great, overall great experience! Super cute photo op set up! Great idea!

Chef Zach Ottens has put together an incredible menu. The smoked pork belly bites started off our Valentine’s Day dinner, followed by a delightful charcuterie board with some of the best apple butter and chow chow this PA Dutch boy has ever had. The rainbow trout in dill crema was rich and delicious, and I almost never order cooked fish. Finished the evening with two incredible dessert cocktails, and a Shoofly cheesecake that I’ll be dreaming about until my next visit.
Everything was reasonably priced for the great quality and more than fair portions. Our server Victoria (I’m really hoping I remembered her name) was engaging and efficient. House Manager Corey was professional and warm on what can be a brutal night in the restaurant industry.
We were absolutely blown away and started planning our next visit before dessert even hit the table.

Went for Valentines day. Atmosphere was beautiful! Service was a bit slow but understandable on a special occasion. Food was good but not great. We had the surf & turf. Crab cake was a little briney and the steak was a little over cooked from what I ordered. All in all it was an average experience for spending $200.

We used to really enjoy coming here, but unfortunately it’s gone downhill. The place seems to cycle through manager after manager without anything improving. Service is consistently slow, and the bartenders come across as disengaged and not properly trained. The kitchen is often out of food, and on the rare occasions items are available, the meals arrive cold. Seating has also become a regular frustration — the restaurant can be nearly empty and they still won’t seat you, likely because they’re short-staffed. It’s disappointing to see a place we once liked struggle this much.
