Goodbye, old friend. It was with some saudade that I learned this place had closed in early February. As an aside, it really speaks to how badly Yelp has fallen off that such a local institution could be closed that long and it still not be updated on the site, but I digress..... While this place may not have had the greatest final run stemming from the sanitation/rat problem they had a few years back, there is no denying that for decades this was one of the finest restaurants (not just Asian) in the Main Line area. I know I for one enjoyed many delicious meals from here, be they special occasions to take out. Apparently there is a promising dim sum restaurant taking over the space. While I will certainly give it a shot, there probably isn't enough life left in me to build the same connection as I did with Yangming over the years....

Rumor has it that Yangming will be closing it's doors for good. I will miss it, superb food, at lunch and at dinner, good service and a landmark on Haverford Rd and the Ardmore/Bryn Mawr neighborhoods for many years. Good memories.

This has been a easy and well Enjoyed restaurant in the area. It has finally been sold. The food is good. Asian pear salad is good. Steamed veggies if you want some healthy items. Let’s see what the new owner does.

I'll miss the delicious food at Yangming! Everything is always excellent! Some of our favorite dishes....jumbo lump crabcake, jumbo crab and shrimp fried rice, crabmeat purses and seafood dumplings with the best fortune cookies.
I've had meals there fairly regularly since 1998 and am very sad to see them go. My favorite dish, as with my wife, was the shrimp in black bean sauce surrounded by eggplant. This was the best Chinese restaurant in the extended area. It will be missed.

Sad to see that Yangming is closing its doors. Really good Chinese food, with a variety of choices and healthy menu options. The steamedcrab dumplings were delicious and the sauce just wonderful. Our entrees - 1) shrimp and scallops in lemongrass sauce was delicious, even though I couldn't taste the lemongrass. Plenty of shrimp, scallops and veggies in a light sauce.2) Wok seared brandy miso shrimp was the best choice, great sauce, 3) angel hair pasta and shrimp, the appetizer size was plenty. Overall, great food, great service.

Another delicious meal at Yangming, but alas probably our last with the imminent closure next weekend. We have enjoyed our visits to Yangming for the past 20+ years, and wish Mr. Wei the best of success in his future ventures.

Keep in mind the noise level is in direct proportion to the restaurant celebrating Chinese New Year. This restaurant is wonderful. I have gone over the last 2 decades many times to celebrate so much in my life and am so sad to see it closing. I really hope the next owner does well for it and considers hiring back the wait staff. We've all gotten to know them over so long! My dad always looks forward to getting Richard for a waiter. He remembers their orders every time they go. The staff there have been there for a long time and are always so knowledgeable, pleasant, and on top of their service. I will miss it here, and so will the rest of my family!
Yang Ming is closing. It is our very favorite restaurant on the entire Main Line. We will miss the Best Asian Food in the US. We will miss the gracious Host, so accommodating, friendly and the Best Lastly, we will miss the extraordinary waiters. Always the most professional. Thank You, Yang Ming for all the wonderful Dinners and Special Occasions you gave us.
