Hardwood Cafe offers enjoyable outdoor seating under a permanent roof with wheelchair accessibility. The food and service receive mixed reviews, with some finding it yummy and friendly, while others thought it was mediocre. The restaurant has big TV screens for sports and long tables for group nights out. They offer tortes from Oakmont Bakery for dessert. The venue is ideal for events like Rehearsal Dinners, with delicious food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. The parking is plentiful, and the overall experience is highly recommended for those visiting the area.
The atmosphere can feel a little crowded and cafeteria-style due to tightly arranged tables, especially in busy times. However, the food is generally good, and the quick service helps manage large crowds. Guests have enjoyed tasty ribs with good fries, and the outdoor seating on a beautiful day adds to the experience. The restaurant has a large beer selection, including seasonal favorites like Southern Tier PumpKing. Popular meals such as the Apple Chicken and Meatball sub receive praise. The sports bar section features many TV screens showing various shows, creating an entertaining environment. The menu includes pizza, wings, pasta, salad, and sandwiches, which are enjoyed by many, along with a selection of beers and cocktails. Service can be a little slow but is still acceptable. The Reuben sandwich and soup dejour are highly recommended, and the staff support each other well, often joking and creating a friendly atmosphere. Despite having many seats, the place can sometimes be surprisingly empty early in the evening, making it a hidden gem in the Butler Saxonburg area. Overall, Hardwood Cafe provides a friendly environment with a festive mood, perfect for group outings, special events, or a casual meal.
