“We recently visited Taste of Japan on a Saturday afternoon around 3:30 PM and were honestly surprised to find a wait but after dining, we completely understood why! The estimated 30-minute wait flew by, and the experience was well worth it. The hibachi buffet was fantastic, offering fresh ingredients along with some unique options you don’t typically see. The sushi selection and hot bar were both well stocked and absolutely delicious. One of our favorite parts was being able to take individual pieces, which made it easy (and fun!) to try new things we might not normally order. We also loved that all the sauces were conveniently available at the end of the buffet so you could customize everything to your taste. The dessert bar could easily be the star of the show. They offered individual ice cream cups in multiple flavors, novelty ice cream treats, and a variety of bite-sized desserts cakes, puddings, brownies, and more perfectly portioned so you could sample several without feeling overdone. They also had a salads with ginger dressing that we unfortunately missed at first since it was located in the dessert case area, but we’ll definitely remember that for our next visit! The staff was polite, attentive, and quick throughout our time there, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great dining experience, and we can absolutely see why it’s such a popular spot. We’re already looking forward to going back!“

“My family has been getting food here for years and the food is always really great for a quick bite to eat at the mall and we have never been disappointed. My kids love the teriyaki chicken and my husband and I love to treat ourselves to their amazing poke bowls. They use quality sushi grade tuna and salmon. The salmon just melts in your mouth and all their fish smells fresh. The manager is so kind to our family and one quick witted jokester and makes us laugh. Our kids love seeing him and refuse to leave the mall without saying hi to the manager and his staff. Sad to see some negative reviews from people who seem to have 5 star restaurant food expectations on a economical gourmet budget. Can't accommodate everyones food preferences.“

“I ordered two 10 piece chicken to go and it was still crunchy after I got home (hour and thirty minute drive) and it tasted so good. the fried zucchini with spicy mayo was also delicious! I would say eating any kind of fried food is best as soon as you get it, but this place never disappoints!“

“Stopped here for Hibachi at my sons request. We had never been here before but we're in the area and it was close to us. We are so happy we stopped in! By far the best Hibachi and Sushi we have had in a long time! We will definitely come back, and make the drive to eat there again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! And not only was the food given the rating of an 11 by my son. Everyone was nice, attentive, and gave us awesome service!!“

“We love this restaurant for so many reasons! The servers and staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and they are willing to make accommodations here and there so you get exactly what you like. We have been here so many times for hot pot, sushi, hibachi and BBQ, there are so many options to chose from and they have a full bar too. There are different sections, but mostly we sit on the hot pot side and we get to see the hibachi shows, we sat there a few times as well. The chefs are so funny and put on an exciting show with delicious outcome. I love the sauce bar where you can mix your own from fresh ingredients. Pro tip, ask for the kimchi its really delicious here. Mikado is literally a staple restaurant for us and we keep coming back! There is ample parking in the back. Prices are reasonable for huge servings. Some times there is a wait for the hibachi side, but we always get prompt seating for the hot pot and BBQ. There are vegetarian and seafood options here. lots of meat as well.“

“HOURS NEED UPDATED. Facebook/online/their front door (everywhere) says they are open until 9:30 on Sundays. We went there to order takeout at 8:40 and were told we couldn’t because they supposedly close at 9. We love this place & work late on Sundays so this was really disappointing.“

“I’m usually not one to write reviews but hopefully this will save someone time. We came on a Sunday, around 5pm and were only the 2nd family dining in the sushi bar area. It took about 30 minutes just to get one plate of sashimi. Our 2nd sushi roll took about 10 more minutes to come out and then by the time the 3rd roll was ready, our waiter was outside smoking and it just sat there until he finished his smoke break. We were given one napkin and had to ask for chopsticks. To say we were disappointed is an understatement.“
