Hank's Place - Kennett Reviews
Everything about it…the people that work there, the food, even the prices are not bad.
I’ve been twice to Hanks for breakfast, one around 2022 in the old building and just this past week Nov 2025 to see their new building. Both were very disappointing visits, food terrible ( Waffles in 2022 , pumpkin pancakes in 2025), neither edible (first undercooked, no flavor, 2nd dense, dry, artificial flavor), horribly cheap artificial syrup, coffee terrible. Prices too high and very, very noisy inside of full, nearly impossible to talk to those at you table. Servers...read full review
My wife and I went to Hanks for brunch earlier today. We were seated right away but it took over a half hour for us to receive our food because the kitchen was backed up. Once we got our food, my wife basically had to assemble her sandwich, and her scrambled eggs were undercooked, runny, and inedible. Told the waitress and she said she would take it off the bill. When I went to pay, that was not the case, they only took $5 off the $42 bill. We won’t be returning…

Hank's Place in Kennett is a restaurant known for its upscale diner food and good extras. The interior has been refreshed and is tastefully decorated, making it a pleasant place to visit. While it can get super busy on weekends, seating is usually prompt, although some guests have noted that the small space can lead to service issues, especially when the staff is overwhelmed. A popular choice is the "Bullseye breakfast" with fresh toast and eggs, and many find the food to be delicious with interesting takes on typical breakfast fare. However, the prices are noted to be on the higher side, with a breakfast for two costing around 30 dollars plus tip.
In addition to dine-in service, Hank's Place also offers catering, which has received praise for its ample portions and tasty food. Some reviewers have mentioned small sandwich portions, extra charges for sides, and a lack of clarity regarding dining hours. The restaurant is currently in a temporary location while the original site undergoes reconstruction, which may encourage some to revisit after the renovations. Despite minor drawbacks, Hank's Place is generally regarded as a solid option for a meal in Kennett Square, with a wide variety of dishes and excellent desserts. The new building is incredible, with a wide open architecture that can be a bit noisy, especially on busy days, but the atmosphere and food make it worth visiting. Guests also appreciate friendly staff and quick service, though some wish for more vegetarian options like vegan sausage or veggie bacon.
