Recon Brewing at Meeder

I have been to Recon quite a few times because we meet up with mug club members that we know. The beer is great and the food is average. What used to be great was the service. Even when they were busy the servers were on point. On our last few visits, and the most recent one in particular, the servers seem like they are doing you a favor. Sit down, 10 minutes to order a beer. Another 10 minutes to get it. Want to order food, flag them down but they will spend a few more minutes finishing their conversation with other servers before coming to your table. They aren’t busy with anything other than socializing with each other at the server station that we were sitting about 8 feet away from. Also, I know this is a brewery but it would be nice if they had at least one red and white wine. This place has dropped off and it shows.

I appreciate the quick response from Recon. In relation to the wine, a guest in my party has tried on two occasions to order Chardonnay and was told you don’t have it. Maybe it’s not kept in stock?

Gideon at Recon Bar is absolutely fantastic! From the moment we walked in, he made us feel welcomed and taken care of. His attention to detail, friendly attitude, and genuine professionalism made the entire experience so much better. He was quick, attentive without being overbearing, and truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right. You can tell he cares about his guests and enjoys what he does. Highly recommend asking for Gideon when you visit—his service is top-notch! We’ll definitely be back.

The pretzel I got was comparable to a concession stand pretzel, the beer cheese was practically nacho cheese from Sam’s club and the Buffalo chicken dip was very disappointing. The chips served with the dip were also of the cheap concession stand variety. There are much better brewery’s in cranberry for food. Recon did have a good wheat beer though, I was impressed by that which is why I gave 3 stars instead of two.

EDIT:
Dont charge 15$ for the cheapest round nacho and costco 10 gallon bucket of cheese. Thats how you can improve. Price should reflect quality, in your case a fair price for the nachos is $4. Overall the quality of the food was comically bad. I hope its improved since, but I doubt it.

My family and I are beyond frustrated with Recon Brewing. It makes absolutely no sense to keep your doors serving ALCOHOL open until 10 PM but close the kitchen at 8 PM, especially on a Friday night! We went in expecting to have a nice meal with our drinks, SEEING AS HOW EVERY OTHER PLACE IN CRANBERRY SERVES FOOD WELL PAST 8, only to be told the kitchen was already closed. Who thought this was a good idea? Typical cranberry business logic…. On a busy weekend night, people want food with their drinks, not to be told the kitchens closed when you’re clearly open for another 2 hours. SEEMS LIKE COMPLETE LAZINESS. This poor decision-making shows a complete lack of understanding of basic hospitality. It’s honestly ridiculous and incredibly disappointing. Won’t be coming back anytime soon and will be referring all of my future family and guests elsewhere.

One bartender on a Saturday at peak lunch hour? Terrible

Clean, nice looking place - probably nice to have if you live in the cluster of housing developments it is in the middle of but not a place to seek out. Beer was decent but the food was cheap, prepackaged ingredients, very bland. Completely overrun with screaming children.

The crab cakes are the best crab cakes I've had in a LONG time. And the remoulade is lemony enough that you don't need that lemon wedge you probably asked for. Trust me. Seriously, DELICIOUS. Oh, and they come with mac&cheese. which was good. But the star here is the CRAB CAKES!!!! 🦀

Do you like beer, they have it and it is good. The food is also good.
