“Second time eating at this gem, bringing the family along. I had the tikka masala, and family had red curry, chicken quesadilla and Hawaiian stir fry. The flavors were SO delicious and everyone loved their meals. It's great they offer vegetarian protein choices and substitutes. Owners are super friendly. We can't wait to come back again!”

“I cannot stress enough how amazing your restaurant and staff are. We’ve been patrons for years and have never experienced any issues. Our most recent two visits with our 3 young grandchildren were effortless! We love the food and staff so much. I will mention Vince as he waited on us both times and is so attentive as ALL the staff we have had. We love the mother/daughter staff, but I regret that I don’t know their names. My personal favorite is the custom calzone. I asked for thin dough and both meat and marinara sauce on the side. I was delighted that it was all perfect and I took half home! “Stop scrolling and just map here and go already! I grew up on the island of Guam with a wide variety of fresh authentic Asian food at my fingertips. Often eating Asian food is sad for me because it is so far from what I remember and reminds me of how far away I feel from the Pacific Ocean. Now that I’ve found this place, there’s nowhere else I will be going when I’m homesick and hungry. The owner and his family are simply precious, radiating quiet kindness and familial warmth to every guest who came in. They are a new restaurant, but the owners (both chefs) knew people by name and asked new guests their names, and served exquisite and beautiful food I will be thinking about for days. If you can, bring a friend with you so you can share something from Japan and something from Thailand on your first visit. You won’t regret it. Oh, and the donuts…

“Thank god I found this place before I left to drive back for Michigan! That sandwich was absolutely amazing, the bread was soo soft, they load up the meat, the veggies are fresh! Don't get me started on the bakery!! Their cookies were fantastic, but haven't gotten to the cinnamon roll yet. They have an icing frosting and a cream cheese frosting for the cinnamon rolls. For cookies I had their pecan, chocolate chip, peanut butter cup, and white macadamia nut and they had so many other ones. They were all so soft and flavorful! Only regret is that I didn't get more. If you are in the area, you don't want to pass up this sandwich and bakery spot! Everyone was so friendly. Thank you!!!”

“the food is pretty good... but the service is Horrible!! Super slow... no smiles or greetings if you're not Indian. One guy waits on the whole dining room is completely rude and non-verbal... I decided to order to-go last night instead of being ignored in the dining room again and they said 40 minutes... I waited an hour and a half for it! the guy tried to put a Diet Coke for free instead of an apology... I dont even drink Diet Coke. The food is fine but they dont care about the customers at all!”

“Went for a late dinner after the Heidelberg October fest with my fiancé and 5 year old for the first time since the expansion. I had high expectations because we have had take out multiple times and have been pleased. We were not disappointed! We had a hot dog, Cuban sandwich, torts with salsa (AMAZING as always), tater tots and the soup special. Everything was great but the pumpkin/corn harvest chowder was phenomenal, the complexity and layers of flavors was out of this world. I am not easily impressed so I was blown away by our meal. Our server/bartender was great and went out of his way to ensure we had a stellar experience. We will be back again soon!”

“5 months since my very first time in July I've been dreaming about Chaykhana's Uzbek plov. It was my first time experiencing Uzbeki Cuisine and plov. Today I had the opportunity to indulge again and the food here is phenomenal. Without Chaykhana's presence in Pittsburgh and their community events - it would not had opened me up to the world of related cuisines with deeper appreciation. Uzbekistan was the meeting point and hub of exchange. I hope that centrality of converging cultures blesses Pittsburgh with continuous diversity and acceptance.”

A few times, a gentleman who I assume is the owner, brings us a little plate of crab and mango “on the house.” Sushi scraps they don’t want to go to waste I imagine? Regardless, it’s a sweet gesture!
