“What a charming little restaurant! I sat at the bar on a work trip for an early dinner, which they actually have a menu for! Prices are reasonable for the city, and 4-6 is happy hour so I came at the right time for great prices and drinks and appetizers. Would definitely recommend! Plus this is walking distance to many nice hotels downtown. Only 5 min walk from the Kimpton Palomar! Would recommend calling ahead to ensure availability.“

“Delicious food, knowledgeable staff, great beer selection. The food comes out so hot and fresh, honestly it is the hottest food I've ever had at a restaurant. Clearly it's not sitting under heat lamps and it's run right away. Tonight I devoured the cheese tortellini, I've had the chicken parmesan 2 times and the Brussel sprouts 2 times. The fish tacos on taco Tuesday were good too (not pictured). It can get loud, but that doesn't deter from the quality of food and service.“

“Cook and Shaker is a cozy corner bar that just reopened after renovations!

The bar was huge with nice ambient lighting. There were also lots of high tops around the restaurant, plenty of seating in an open space.

One of the bartenders, Tori, gave us samples of their espresso martini which was SO delicious. One of the best I’ve had in Philly. Highly recommend.

For food, we got the cook and shaker salad, popcorn chicken and their special of the night which was a pizza steak sandwich with vodka sauce. The salad was fresh and delicious, the croutons seemed homemade (the best). The popcorn chicken was heavily breaded which I personally like, but my friend wasn’t a fan. If you like crispy small pieces of chicken, you’ll enjoy these.

We were unfortunately not a fan of the pizza steak sandwich. We got it because of the vodka sauce, but we couldn’t taste that at all. We swapped it for a grilled cheese, which was just okay.

Overall, we loved the atmosphere, espresso martini and some of the food. I will definitely come back in the future to try more things!“

“Great atmosphere and a solid menu. The fig and walnut pizza was decent, but not great. The chipotle burger was very good. There’s a good cocktail and beer list, and a decent amount of specials. There’s a good size parking lot around the back on the other side of the street. Otherwise street parking is tough.“

Great bartenders/waitstaff, delicious portions of Fish & Chips and Roast Beef Sandwich w/ skinny fries, sadly we didn't save room for dessert. Definitely a sports bar vibe w/ 8 big screen TVs in the bar area. Did not get a look at the dining room but it seems to be a good size.

“Treated ourselves to this place we saw on diners driveins and dives after shoveling a whole bunch of snow. The atmosphere is great, packed especially for a winter storm day. There were only three servers and one of them had to bartend as well, but food and drink came super fast. They are doing the best they can!

Got their brunch special with duck (which is absolutely delicious), a veggie burger, French onion soup (urgently needed in this weather), 1 cocktail and 2 desserts. Total came up to $77 before tax and tips. Great deal. Totally worth walking half an hour in 20 inches of snow for.“

“Was there last night for early dinner and stayed to see the Eagles first TD. Food was fresh and extremely tasty. The vibe here is great. The service was excellent. Our server, Max, was very personable and gives very good recommendations. Max is not the only server like this. It seems to be the culture there. They have a lot of loyal customers. When we left the was a couple looking for a place to eat and watch the game. I quickly recommended Glory. If in Old City and near Chestnut and 2nd give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.“

We had to wait a few minutes so she got us 2 stools to sit on while we ordered our beer. Minutes later our table was ready! We ordered the Guinness Casserole and left nothing on that plate! She came over to check on us and saw that we had no soda bread and got us a plate full. We boxed a few pieces to take back with us to enjoy at breakfast. As we left we thanked her and I told her that everything was FANTASTIC and showed her the bread we were going to take home! She then took the box and filled it for us so we had enough for long drive home! I will come back anytime I'm in Philly. I have told all my friends and family to come here. It is a wonderful place.
