I was not impressed, after traveling 6 hours and spending over $400 for 12 of us to eat. I dont expect buffets to be great but it wasnt even good for buffet standards. My steak was cold, the cajun catfish was salty not spicy, bbq pork was to sweet, the skin on the smoke sausage was toughest smoke sausage I ever eat. The ham, turkey and tender loin was very bland like they was cooked in water. There was a few things that tasted good but nothing was a wow thats good and thats including...read full review
Everytime I ever went the food was amazing many selections to choose from very clean and tidy. this places serves thousands a day they might not all be as happy as others but customer service is great 😃
Went for lunch today and what a waste of $50.00!! Only reason I tried it was because my favorite buffet was closed today and I already drove an hour and a half to have lunch. The food was not even hot and had no taste. It was like eating school cafeteria food!! Won’t be back ever!

Shady Maple Banquets and Catering is a humungous, very country old fashion buffet experience, widely recognized as the largest buffet in America. The massive food hall features a huge variety of literally everything you can imagine, from classic turkey dinner style to pastas, fried chicken, fish, jerk chicken, cheesesteaks, pizzas, a salad bar, and an enormous dessert bar with all types of puddings and pies and an ice cream station. There are separate carving and grill stations for ham, brisket, steaks, salmon, prime rib, wraps, and burgers. The selection includes familiar buffet items and unique PA/Amish-specific dishes, offering typical American fare with a mix of local Amish cooking reminiscent of grandma's home cooking.
The food is good quality, generally pretty good, tasty, and fresh, with everything prepared well using locally-sourced ingredients. It represents great value, though it is routine fare, mostly meat and potatoes. The beverage station is extensive, with sodas, teas, milks, coffee, lattes, Icee's, and an enormous selection of juices. The dining area is very nice with a fancy hotel ambience, and the parking lot is big enough to accommodate the 2,000 people it can seat. Service is great, with very friendly staff, though there can be a bit of a wait as it is always busy. A 12% service charge is included, with tipping not allowed.
Downstairs, there is a massive gift shop and everything store with plenty of knickknacks. The experience is different and impressive due to its unbelievable size and interesting 3D art scattered around the halls. It is worth a one-and-done trip to be wowed by the variety and countess options, making a day out of a visit.
